Spellbinders Circular Stitched Background

Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back. Today I have a Spellbinders Circular Stitched Background Card to share with you. This new background plate is part of the New Release Merry Stitchmas Collection over at Spellbinders. Check it out, there are all kinds of fun shapes to stitch.

I chose this plate because I love to stitch and I really like the design on this one. Plus, it’s not just for Christmas, it can be used all year around.

How to create the Spellbinders Circular Stitched Background Card

Start with a piece of Spellbinders Waterfall card stock and run it through the Platinum 6 die cutting machine with the Circular Stitched background plate.

Next, use embroidery cotton to stitch the circles. I used DMC 4030 variegated for this panel today. Spellbinders now carries Embroidery Cotton too

Attach to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Die Cutting the Florals overlay:

I pulled my floral color choices from the cotton, the light purple and green.

Use the Christmas Blooms Etched die set to die cut the florals in Purple Mist and Rain Forest cardstock.

Stack the small and large poinsettias on top of each other

Cut the holly from brushed Gold cardstock

Add the Glimmer Foiled Sentiment

Use the Yana’s Christmas Sentiments and Gold Foil onto white.

Cut the sentiment out with the coordinating die and attach to the card front with foam squares.

The combination of the gold holly, the glimmered sentiment and the Fashion Gold Embellishments for the flower centers add the perfect amount of bling.
