Howdy card making friends and welcome back. Tonight is the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Sparkle New Release and I have a fun 3D project to share with you, the FaLaLa Gift Box Decorating Ideas Tutorial. One of the new items Simon sent me to create with was the Tree Mask Stencil Set. This is a 4 stencil set with different size trees cut in them. You get the positive and the negative pieces in the kit, so you can have loads of fun with it. Instead of making a card, I decided to decorate a 6″ x 6″ white cardboard gift box and create a matching gift tag. I hope you like it.
You can view the entire new HOLIDAY SPARKLE RELEASE HERE, and I have new blog posts coming your way for the next few days with inspiration creating with some of the new products.

Gift Box Decorating Tutorial – The basics:
I ran to Michaels to the candy making department to grab this 6″ x 6″ white square cardboard gift box. I use these at Christmas time to share baking with our neighbors, so I’m so glad I got to decorate one today. Link to my butter tart and pecan tart recipe is below for you).
There are many products you can use to decorate a gift box, today I’ll be decorating this gift box with paper products and gems. This technique will work for pretty much any size gift box, large or small, you can just adjust the size of the trees to fit.
Start by using different sizes of the Tree Mask Stencil and blending Distress Oxide Ink Colors through it, (with a blending brush) onto white cardstock.
Next, place the Scattered Stars stencil over the tree stencil, and stencil the same color through the stars. The stars will show up the same color but darker.
Repeat with all 6 colors: Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet.
Then, cut them out.
Adding the Sentiment:
Start by cutting the FaLaLa die twice and glue them together.
Then, use the same ink colors and small blending brushes to add the rainbow of colors to the words.
Finally, cut the shadow from mirror gold cardstock and stack before attaching to the top of the box.
PRO-TIP – Put the lid back on the box before gluing the word down to help with spacing. (you don’t want the lid to cover all your hard work on the sentiment).
Gift Box Decorating Tutorial – Final Embellishments:
Start by die cutting the gold stars using the Hero Arts Star Wreath Die and Mirror Gold cardstock. Cut the stars apart and add them to the tops of the trees and the lid on the box
Next, use the Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Jewel Mix to add gems to the trees.
GIFT BOX DECORATING BONUS PROJECT:
Start by die cutting a white tag using the Simon Says Stamp Nested Tags dies.
Next, glue on the trees and add the gems.
Finally, add the sentiment cut from Mirror Gold card stock using the Merry Christmas die from Simon.
Then, add a piece of ribbon through the top hole
Below is a list of the products to complete my Gift Box Decorating. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and will give it a try. I fill these boxes with my butter tarts and pecan tarts and I share the recipe here
