Spellbinders Stitched Balloon Card Front

Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back.  I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed some warm weather.  It’s the beginning of the month so we have all new club kits and I’m starting the month off with the Spellbinders Stitched Balloon Card Front.  My Favorite kit for this month for sure, LOL.  It has  a great card front panel that cuts the balloons, stitched or unstitched, and embosses the strings, all with one trip through the die cutting machine.

I combined it with the sentiment from the May Silhouette Balloon Greetings which is the GLIMMER of the month Club, and I’ll be back around shortly with another fun card made with that set.

Until then, let’s jump in to making today’s card.

How to create the May Stitched Balloon Card Front Card:

Start by Glimmer Foiling the sentiment in the top right of a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of waterfall cardstock.

Next, die cut the piece with the Stitched Balloon Card Front die and then attach it to a top folding A2 sized White card base.

Then, cutting just the two stitched balloons, die cut them in Rain Forest Green and Lilac Blossom purple.

Finally, using DMC cotton, stitch all the balloons.

I love the finished effect of this card.  The stitching looks like a star burst effect inside each balloon.

Putting the card together:

Note:  the die cut panel also lightly embosses where the other balloons should be placed.

Start by adding foam squares to the back of the stitched balloons, and placing the background balloons down.

Next, add foam squares to the sides that are not touching a balloon below for the overlay balloons.

Then, add Color Essentials Gold Smooth Disks for some added bling.

Super card, Sandi! Love the stitching, love the colours, love
the gold sentiment and love the turquoise background on which it all sits!

This is beautiful, Sandi! I guess you just had the colors of embroidery floss on hand to match the cardstock exactly? Wow… I can’t allow myself to get into any other craft. I spend too much now LOL.

    1. Thanks Lori, and yes, I have every color of DMC cotton, I used to do a ton of embroidery crewel and cross stitch. My eyes don’t love the detail work anymore though, LOL
