Sandi MacIver – Stampin with Sandi – August 2018 – Paper Pumpkin Alternative Cards
My share today is August 2018 – Stampin Up Paper Pumpkin Alternative Cards. I received my kit and of course as always, I dropped everything and had a peek inside. WOW.
Flower cards, in my favourite colours….I was totally stoked.
The kit contains everything you need to complete the cards including glue dots, Dimensionals, lovely silver foil trimmed envelopes, printed cards, sentiment panels, designer twine, an ink spot and an exclusive stamp set. (and printed instructions).
This kit also included Lemon Lime Twist and white vellum die cut leaves.
I finished the cards as per the written instructions – you get 10 in this package and they are lovely. It takes about 30 minutes to complete them, using up most of the supplies. Of course you have the exclusive Stamp Set to play with afterwards and it happens to have a pretty flower and embellishments along with some great sentiments, so I carried on.
And I created three alternative cards. Each card has the same card stock cuts:
- Base: Thick Whisper White, 4-1/4 x 11
- Mat: Lemon Lime Twist 3-3/4 x 5
- Card front: Whisper White 3-5/8 x 4-7/8
For the flowers, I stamped the main image in Flirty Flamingo, the center in Daffodil Delight, and the stamens in black. Then I cut them out.
I also embossed the card front on all three with the “Subtle” embossing Folder just to add a little extra “background noise”.
Card #1 uses 4 of the smaller green vellum leaves and three flowers with the sentiment stamped (before embossing) in Lemon Lime Twist.
For card #2 I dry fit everything into place and stamped the little “starburst” stamp around my art piece for some added background (before embossing) and used one of the extra sentiment panels.
For Card 3 I used my stitched shape framelits and square framelits to create the little frame before adding all the elements. there is also that adorable little heart stamp which I added just above the sentiment.
I had great fun building these additional cards and love that I get a little stamp set in every one of my Paper Pumpkin boxes that I can use again and again.
Also, if you are a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber – you can also order the Blissful Blooms Refill Kit. This kit has all the supplies to make 10 additional cards but it does not include the stamp set.
These monthly kits are awesome if you love to card but don’t have time to do all the cutting and designing. That’s all done for you, all the embellishments are included and of course you can change it up to make it your own too.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and thanks so much for stopping in to visit.
Wishing you Happy Stamping.
