Hi card making friends. Today I’m sharing Blissful Butterflies Slimline Card. I’m Crafting My Stash today, and I found this beautiful Blissful Butterflies stamp set I bought quite a while ago from Colorado Craft Company. I noticed during their Holiday Sale that is was on discount and being discontinued so I thought I better use it before that happens, LOL. I had out my Lindy’s Magical Powders, so I decided to black emboss the image and have some fun.

How to create the Blissful Butterflies Slimline Card

Start by black heat embossing the butterfly images onto watercolor paper and set aside.

Next, cut a card front 3″ x 8″. Attach it to a Misty Sticky mat and lay on a protected work surface.

Spritz the piece with water and then start adding Lindy’s Magical Powders with a small paintbrush. For this one, I did the teal at the top, the purple in the middle and the green at the bottom.

Lindy’s Magical Powders used: Lucky Shamrock Green, Sweet Violet Purple, and Tibetan Poppy Teal.

Then let the piece dry. Once dry, mix a small amount of powder with water and splatter the surface. Also, use Gansai Tambi Gem Colors and splatter some gold too.

Creating all the pieces for the card front:

Start by placing your heat embossed butterflies onto a protected work surface. Spritz one butterfly at a time with water. Then, using small paint brushes, sprinkle a small amount of each of the Lindy’s Magic Powders into specific parts of the image. You may get an overflow, but just let it do it’s thing. Repeat with the second Butterfly. When dry, cut them out and go around the cut edge with a black marker.

Next, using the Spellbinders Fluted Classic Circles Dies, cut the small circle from Bazzill Peacock cardstock. Die cut the Simon Says Stamp Happy in black and attach and add “birthday” from Simon’s Reverse Birthday Sentiment Strips.

Then, Die cut two Spellbinders Leafy Sprigs from black cardstock for the background, and one Sealed Leaf Sprigs, also in black.

Finally, create the white card base: 7″ x 8-1/2″, scored and folded at 3-1/2″, the black mat 3-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ then the card front.

Finishing the Blissful Butterflies Slimline Card:

Start by using Tear-iffic Tape to attach the card base, mat and card front together.

Next use foam squares to attach the sentiment circle near the center.

Then using Bearly Art glue, attach the black leaves.

Finally, using foams squares again, attach the butterflies.

Then, embellish with Little Things Jewels Granite Mix and Mermaid.

This is a birthday card for a special friend who is very artistic and I know she is going to love it. And I really love this Blissful Butterflies stamp set so even though it’s retiring, I’ll be keeping it in my stash for some future fun.
