Hi Stamping friends and welcome back. Sadly, there are days we require a sympathy card to share support when someone is going through a tough time. I needed one recently and turned to a couple of new stamps I ordered from Simon Says Stamp hence the Butterfly Comfort card.
The two sets I used are the large Outline Butterfly background stamp and the Comfort and Prayers stamp set. They coordinate with each other, the large butterfly (embossed in vellum) on the front of my card is also repeated in that HUGE background stamp. I love things that match don’t you? It makes designing so effortless.
For the background, I had a left over piece of painted watercolor paper from my last project which I decided to use.
I simply white embossed the large background stamp directly over it…just perfect!
The sentiment is also white embossed onto a small piece of card stock with an additional vellum overlay. The stitching detail of the rectangle dies adds a soft border without taking over.
I wanted my main large accent butterfly to be the focal point of my card so I white heat embossed him onto a piece of Vellum and fussy cut him out to create a slight 3-d effect.
My final embellishment to add just a touch of interest to my background: the Brutus Monroe Bottle Cap Sequins.
