Sandi MacIver – Stampin With Sandi – Hi stamping friends, my share today is A Cake Soiree Stampin Up Birthday Card:
Today’s card design was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge for this week
The Cake Soiree Suite of products is on Pages 12 and 13 of the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue with more samples on the previous page.
What I love about Stampin Up Suites? Everything coordinates!…making card designing so simple.
Sandi’s Tips & Tricks for the Cake Soiree Stampin Up Birthday Card:
I started by embossing the background piece of Whisper White with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder (free Sale-a-bration item). Then I placed a 4 x 4 piece of the designer paper over it, cutting both layers on an angle at the same time.
Attach both of these pieces to a Thick Whisper White card base.
I used the Sweet Cake Framelits set to die cut the beautiful Filigree tag in the background and the Old Olive Leaves. The flowers are pre-printed and from the coordinating Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit.
I added a little piece of the Old Olive 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon before using Dimensionals to attach the tag to my card.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment in black ink on a scrap of Whisper White and trimmed it before attaching it to the card.
This card layout is perfect for using up small pieces of Designer Paper and the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Paper has some lovely choices.
For the Cake Soiree Stampin Up Birthday Card:
- Card Base: Thick Whisper White 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2
- Card Front: Whisper White 4 x 5-1/4 and designer paper 4 x 4
- Tag: Whisper White 2-1/2 x 3
Thanks so much for stopping to visit with me today. The products used in today’s card are listed at the end of the post for you.
Wishing you Happy Stamping.
