Cardmaking with Altenew Dot Botanical

Hi papercrafting friends and welcome back.  As promised, I have cardmaking with Altenew Dot Botanical today for you.  Two cards actually, one with more of the VersaFine Clair Ink I shared with you in last weeks video, and another, heat embossed with colored embossing powder on black…most striking.

This Altenew Dot Botanical stamp set has so many possibilities, and I have not even touched on the coordinating dies yet.  It’s perfect for any occasion, just change out the sentiment.

For the first card, it’s single layered Neenah Solar White 110#.  I like thick cards and especially when using this VersaFine Clair ink as the pads are super juicy.  I’m trying to broaden my color spectrum so here’s Golden Meadow, Morning Mist and Warm Breeze.

I used my Misti to stamp the images just in case I had to re-ink, but even with the solid stamps, this ink has great coverage.

The second card also has a Neenah Solar White 110# card base with a Black overlay.  I heat embossed it first before attaching it.

In trying to find colors that were similar to the first card, I decided on Ranger Wendy Vecchi – Sunflower and Garden Patina embossing powders.

I think my VersaMark Ink pad needs to be reinked, but I actually like the uneven, blotchy look of the solid images and their stark contrast on the black.

The dot Botanical stamps are done in Simon Says Stamp Gold Embossing Powder.  This card just sparkles, unfortunately it’s hard to take a picture of that, haha.

As these are single layer cards I’m didn’t do a PDF tutorial for them but here are the card cuts.

  1. Love the black card with the colour embossing – it’s stunning Sandi! I too like the more blotchy effect of the coloured leaves.
