Hey card making friends, welcome back. I have a snowy birthday card to share with you today. Yes, that’s a thing up here in the frozen North, haha, we also have snowy Valentine’s cards, haha, which this could also be.
It’s the Chilly and Freezy Slimline Card and Give Away I promised a few weeks ago. My other order has arrived and there was a second Chilly and Freezy Die set in it, so I’m going to do a GIVE AWAY for the second set.
PS – the Chilly and Freezy Die set was a promotion between Tim Holtz and Simon Says Stamp back in November. The die set is no longer available to purchase.

How to make the Chilly and Freezy Slimline Card:
Start by cutting a piece of watercolor card stock 3″ x 8″, secure to a protected work surface and spritz with the Tim Holtz Distress Mica Stains in Shiny Bauble and Merry Mint.
PRO-TIP – This is a super fast and easy way to create a beautiful watercolor looking background for your cards without a bunch of fuss. It’s also great fun to experiment with different color combos.
NOTE – SIMON SAYS STAMP now sells Mica Stains Individually, and In Sets. (I have linked them below).
Next, Place the new Simon Says Stamp Four Flakes Stencil from the Kisses release over the dry panel and blend Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink through the stencil randomly across the piece.
Then, clean the stencil, and use Snowdrop White Paper Glaze to stencil random white snowflakes over the piece.
Set aside to dry.
Adding the Art Elements:
Start by Die cutting the Happy Birthday in black with a vellum background.
Then, create a snowman with the Chilly and Freezy Die Set. Also cut out 3 pink hearts.
Finally, create the card:
- Card base: White Hammermill 7″ x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 3-1/2″.
- Black Mat: 3-1/8 x 8-1/8
Use the fine tip on the Bearly art glue to glue the sentiment on the left portion of the card and Foam squares to attach the snowman to the right.
Finally, embellish with the three hearts.
PRO-TIP – On the piece below the card, I used Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel instead of Paper Glaze for a much softer, Glimmer snowflake background

I have gained so much inspiration from your cards and tutorials. Every day I check to see if you’ve posted anything new. The snowman duo is especially cute as they seem to be reaching out to each other.
