Colorado Craft Company Carrot On

Hey card making friends, welcome back.  Boy I have some fun for you today with Colorado Craft Company Carrot On.  This is one of the 9 NEW STAMP SETS in the latest Anita Jeram Release going LIVE TODAY.  It’s also the Design Team Hop Day with tons of inspiration for you and GIVE AWAYS (see below).

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.

I love all these new images because I love coloring them, I’m also an avid gardener of veg and floral, so these always really speak to me. BUT,  I got really excited about 1 of the stamp sets that doesn’t even have a critter in it.  You NEED the GREENER GRASS stamp set.  It’s nothing but grass – and there are coordinating dies too so you can do overlays (be still my heart), .  So great for adding detail to your cards.  Next I’m hoping they do a set just of Anita’s cool trees, don’t you?

How to create the Colorado Craft Company Carrot On Bunny Card:

Start by placing a piece of Hammermill White cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ into the Misti and stamping the bunny and butterfly.

Next, place a piece of Masking Paper in the Misti and stamp the same images, cut them out and place them over the main image.

Then,  using the A2 Masks Stencils to mask off the border, use blending brushes to add Mowed Lawn and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink to the background.

Finally, place the piece back into the Misti and stamp the sentiment at the top, and then use various stamps from the Greener Grass stamp set to add the grass around the masked bunny.

Coloring the Colorado Craft Company Carrot On Bunny Card:

Start by gently removing the mask, (save them and use them again).

Then, use Copic Markers to color the images.

PRO-TIP – I used the Pointillism technique:  coloring in the image with little dots starting from light color to dark, then blending with the light.  This makes the bunny look fuzzy, LOL, Love this technique.

Copic Markers Used:
Gray N0, N1, Oranges:  Y15, Y17, Y38, Greens:  YG21, YG23, YG17, Pinks:  R20 (his ears, cheek and nose) and Purples:  V12, V17

Finally, stamp the smaller carrot 3 times on a scrap of hammermill white, color and cut out with the coordinating dies, and add to the grass.

Thanks for the Pointillism technique tip. I will give it a try. I have such a heavy hand so it might be just what I need. This release is cuteness overload. The Veggie Stack and the Greener Grass are becoming my favorites. Thanks.

  2. I really need to try the pointillism technique. I love the affect. And CCC coming up with grass stamps? Genius! I am always coloring in my grass. This is so much nicer and easier.

  3. I do adore the Anita Jeram bunny… and you are right… I do need that Greener Grass stamp… it can be used for soooo many backgrounds!

  4. The stamp sets are so cute! I love the punny ones! I’ve never heard of this company before, so thanks for sharing these!

  5. These new cuties are so sweet. I just love all the Anita Jeram sets. Your colouring of the little bunny and the carrot scene really brings it to life. Thanks for the inspiration.
