Sandi MacIver – Stampin With Sandi – How to Create a Bridge Card.
Hi stamping friends, happy weekend to you. My share today is How to create a Bridge Card. They are all the rage right now and who doesn’t like a new folding card right? So check out the details and the video below, I even created a printable PDF file for you – have fun!
I think, when standing the BRIDGE CARD somewhat resembles a Diorama Card, and also how it folds flat to fit perfectly inside one of our Stampin Up Envelopes too.
Please note – Couple of Corrections in the video:
at 12:59 I say the bridge is 1-3/8 long – it’s 5-3/8 long, and I added that change in LARGE BLACK letters right in the video.
I also say I used the Merry Little Christmas DSP – however, I changed it at the last minute, as I ran out of it, and forgot to change my notes, Sorry about both those errors.
In the video I share some tips on how place the dies to extend the cuts so the bridge is long enough, how to add the “lights” to the windows, and how to cut the designer paper so there is NO WASTE, and you can get 4 of these cards from one 12 x 12 sheet.
Create a sophisticated color combo by adding Gold Foil Sheet to the beautiful NEW Merry Little Christmas Designer Paper from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalogue.

and for those of you who love to receive the measurements of die sets, here is an image with the measurements included for you. You can click on the image to pin it or to save it to your computer.

thanks so much Chris, so glad you enjoyed it
This was a great video and I love the design of this card! I wasn’t going to get this edgelit set but now that I’ve seen your video I will have to get it to make this card for Christmas! Thanks so much!
Thanks so much Linda and yes you need the edgelits, LOL., they are absolutely awesome to work with
This is awesome. Thank you for sharing the tutorial!
thanks Debby, you are so welcome
What a lovely card. I followed the video to make one. I did not have the right DSP, but the thinlit of stars worked quite well. My one concern is on the video when you are measuring across to determine how to shorten the strip with the houses in front, you hold up a ruler and you say, “it measures 1 3/8” when it must measure closer to 5 1/2 across. This might be confusing to some people. Laying flat it fits in our envelopes. Thanks for posting the video. Loving this holiday catty.

Hi Sue, Yes, I made a mistake! that’s why I wrote the correct measurement right above it in the video in BIG black letters and counted off the 5-3/8 on the ruler.
Sorry….I was probably measuring and listening….not watching the screen. I was intent on making this card! Just love it!!!!
For the card to lie flat, my bridge has to be 5 1/2″, too. But it works beautifully with that small adjustment. Lovely card.
yep, some are and some are not, I think it depends on how bulky the inside of your card is
Hi Carol, yes, it depends on how thick your center is, and how close you cut the sides to the edge of the card, if you left a small gap and cut on the inside of the fold line as I did, then the 5-3/8 works perfectly, if it’s a little bulkier, than 5-1/2 works better.
I knew these edgelits were going to be coming my way in my next order! Thanks Sandi for the great video. Love your card. Can’t wait to try it!
thanks Heather, so glad you liked it
