Sandi MacIver – Stampin With Sandi – Dandelion Wishes Resist Technique.
I grabbed another new stamp set from the Stampin Up Annual catalogue today to share the Dandelion Wishes Resist Technique with you.
I love this stamp set, it reminds me of being a kid, picking those Dandelion heads and blowing on them, sending the seeds into the wind and making my wish. I also fondly remember dandelion wine that a friends uncle made, it was awesome but that’s a story for another day haha.
Dandelion Wishes Resist Technique:
- stamp the image in VersaMark Ink
- Cover with White (or clear) embossing powder, shake off the excess
- Heat set with the heat tool
- Pick your favourite colours of ink, and using a Stampin Sponge in a circular motion, add ink over the image.
- Rub with a dry paper towel or baby wipe to remove any ink sitting on top of the embossed image.
It was one of the very first techniques I learned when I started stamping over 30 years ago, and I still Love it.
Once I was done, I reinked the stamp in Grape, stamped off once and added a second stamped image to the left of the embossing for a little added interest.
I played with two of my new favourite inks (ok, one is old and returning), Coastal Cabana and Gorgeous Grape. LOVE these two colours together and have you tried the new style of ink pads yet? Once you get the stiffness out of them, they are pretty slick and they take up way less space than the older style, I’m quite liking this new style although I still get ink on my fingers, but I did on the old ones too haha…
Same stamp set, same technique, this time, just one colour. What I wanted to point out here is a little Sneak Peek, check out the Corrugated Embossing Folder coming in the new Holiday Catalogue and it provides a nice deep embossing. I added a little ink and distressing to the edges.
The Dandelion Wishes set is available in wood #146744 or clear mount #146747 and don’t you love the fonts Stampin’ Up! used for the sentiments, LOVE this set.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and thanks so much for stopping in to visit.
Wishing you Happy Stamping.
