Hi stamping friends and welcome back. Have you tried a Turnabout yet? I had not and can I say – Oh my Gosh – they are SO MUCH FUN! Watch the video below and then give them a try, you will love them.

My turnabout stamp is called Polka Dot Turnabout. I chose it because it makes the most awesome backgrounds (so I can do colored overlays – you know me and flowers haha).
I chose 4 colors for my background all from Gina K: Turquoise, grass green, key lime and lipstick.
The idea behind the turnabout is you place your card stock onto the template, using a Misti, you ink and stamp the first color, turn the template 1/4 turn, ink and stamp the second color, turn the template again, ink and stamp the 3rd and then the 4th, and you end up with this very cool background.
Ok, I know a video will explain it much better, so here is the one from Concord & 9th.
She starts by showing you how to line up the turnabouts, how to stamp and turn and then she shows you the different stamps and some card samples to go along with each (hence the long video but it’s worth watching). Pay special attention to the Christmas ones, next on my list is the snowflakes and the wreath stamp because it’s good for all 4 seasons…..
Back to the card I’m sharing today:
As I shared above, I started by “turnabouting” my background which I then attached to a coordinating mat, and stamped the little line stamp across the bottom.
Then I mounted it to my card base.
I stamped my floral image from the Banners & Blooms stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock with my Memento Black Ink (alcohol Ink ready), and used my copics to color the image.
Next I fussy cut out the flowers because I didn’t order the dies (kicking myself, haha) and attached them to the bottom portion of the card with Foam Tape.
For the sentiment
For the sentiment, I stamped it in VersaMark Ink, and White Heat embossed it onto a scrap of black card stock. I fussy cut it out and mounted it to my card front also with foam tape.

Sandi, this is my first introduction to you & to Scrap’NStamp & I am so very happy to have found you both as I live on the West Coast of BC & to find a CDN company is a blessing. Of all of the Turnabout Stamps I’ve seen on the blog today, this Polka Dot one is my favourite as it doesn’t give the appearance of a lot of busyness to the background. Your fussy cutting is so precise & I sure admire that as I am “cutting challenged”. It’s true… lol I love the bold colours in your floral bouquet. Just a beautiful card all around. I have to agree with you on the Polka Dot turnabout, I thought it would make great backgrounds for all occasions. I have another card coming on the 11th where I only did two of the turns, and laid out the card a bit of a different way, so watch for that coming too. I love to fussy cut, so no problem for cutting out images…try a pair of embroidery scissors with a curved tip, that’s what I use and find them great for cutting around corners.
How lovely your floral arrangement and the dotted background is “the” perfect canvas! Love this!! Your colouring…WOW! Thank you for the inspiration and smiles!
