Hey cardies, hope your weekend is going well. We have had beautiful sunny weather up here this week. I know it won’t last, so have been enjoying it while I can. LOL. I have a Hero Arts Hug in a Mug set of projects to inspire you today.
This is an XL Stamp and Cut set which includes dies and coordinating stamps giving you lots of different options for creating. I decided on a card and a tag, seeing as tags are kind of the theme of the Hero Arts Release this month.
Creating the Hero Arts Hug in a Mug Card:
Start by cutting the Mugs out of Cherry card stock and using a sponge dauber to add Crimson Ink around the edges to create shadows.
Once that ink is dry, stamp the snowflake on the front of the mug in Embellishing and Watermark ink. Cover with white embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.
Next, cut the foam, inside the mug piece, marshmallows, and holly from white cardstock.
Use Copic Markers to color in and/or highlight the images.
Marshmallows: E000, E31, E34
Hot Chocolate inside mug: E31, E34, E35 (also used for the foam)
Candy cane: R46
To create the card base:
Cut a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Paradise card stock.
Mask off the top section and use a blending brush to add Paradise ink to the bottom part of the card front to create a shadow.
Next, place the piece into the Misti and stamp the sentiment on the bottom section in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink.
White heat emboss the steam stamp at the top in white embossing powder.
Attach to a top folding white A2 sized card base.
Finally, add highlights with a #10 white gel pen before attaching the art pieces using foam squares to pop them up for added depth.
How to create the Hero Arts Hug in a Mug Tag.
The steps to create the mug are the same as above except instead of the foam, add marshmallows to the top.
Color the strips in the candy cane with the R46 copic marker
Cut out and color two sets of holly.
Using a piece of Hero Arts Mist card stock, die cut a large tag.
Place the Tag into the Misti and use the Embellishing and Watermark Ink to stamp the Argyle Pattern Bold Prints Background Stamp.
Tip – I love how this watermark image adds a bit of “background noise”, without taking over, it’s just kind of sitting back there singing Fa-La-La, LOL.
Attach the art pieces using foam tape to pop them up.
Finally, add a piece of the red and white twine from the MMH November kit to tie onto a parcel.
I love this tag: it would also be perfect mounted onto a card.
