Hey cardmaking friends, welcome back. I have a new super easy Christmas card to share with you today created with the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Oct 22 Kit. Once again this month, the kit does not disappoint. So many fun things included, and I tried to just use what came in the kit for my card. I have to say I was very taken with the stamp set this month, it’s fabulous with lots of elements to create an array of Holiday cards.
Next, matching dies, YES!. Makes it so much faster to cut out stamped images.
AND, Diamond Glitter Paper – this stuff is so beautiful, I have never seen it before, there are little tiny circles in it, so it coordinates beautifully with the Snow Dots Cling Stamp I used for the background of my card.
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure
I’ve also been playing with some new background blending colors and I have to say I really like this one. It’s Hero Arts Fresh Lawn, Tide Pool and Blue Hawaii. If you have Distress Oxide Inks, it’s Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feather and Prize Ribbon.
How to make the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Oct 22 Card
Start by ink blending a white piece of card stock and then cut it down to 3- 3/4 x 4″.
Place it inside a Misti with the foam removed, secured with a sticky mat. Rub it with a antistatic tool, then stamp the Snow Dots Cling Stamp in VersaMark onto the piece. Cover with white embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.
TIP – Make sure your ink blending is really dry before you start the heat embossing step.
Next, place a quarter sheet of white Hammermill cardstock into the Misti. Secure the tree stamp to the lid.
Ink the stamp in Fresh lawn, then one side in Antiqua. Wipe off any ink from the star at the top and color that with a yellow Tombow Marker #025.
Then, Stamp the image into the white cardstock. When the ink is dry, cut it out with the coordinating dies.
Creating the Sentiment:
Use the Infinity Dies Nesting Ovals to die cut an oval from a quarter sheet of Hammermill White cardstock.
attach it to the bottom of the card front and trim from the back.
Next, place the card front back into the Misti and stamp one of the sentiments in black ink.
Then, attach it to a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8″ mat cut from the Diamond Glitter Paper (Included in the kit) and then to a side folding A2 sized card base in Lapis (included in the kit).
Finally, color the balls on the tree with the yellow marker and then add it to the card with foam squares to add a bit of dimension.
