How to label your Distress Oxide Ink Pads

Hello my crafty friends.  It’s Sunday so that’s my Distress Oxide Series day and today I’m sharing how to label your Distress Oxide Ink Pads.

It’s been a question I get asked a lot each week when I have been doing the Distress Oxide Videos, so I decided to do a quick video and share the PDF File that I created for the labels to help you label yours in accurate colors.

I say accurate, because Ranger does have a PDF you can download with the color printed on them, however all printers do not print the same colors, so they are not accurate.  My PDF let’s you blend the color right onto the label before you attach it to the side of your ink pad.

I print it onto 8-1/2 x 11 Labels which you can get on Amazon here.  Regular paper on the front, sticky on the back.  I show them to you in the video

The PDF has the names of all of the ink pads, and in between each line, there is a dash at the beginning and the end of the line, those are the cutting markers.

Simply line those cutting dashes up on the cutting line in your cutter and cut the entire sheet into strips, resulting in the perfect width for your ink pad, and three colors per strip.

Another question, is the tags on my blending tools.  These are done with the same PDF sheet, I just trim the tag really close to the writing after I color it, and stick it to the handle.

I do a lot of ink blending for my work so for me, it’s easier to have a handle for each color and having the sticker on top, helps me see them in my drawer quickly and easily.

And speaking of my blender tool drawer….that cool divider in there keeps everything neat and tidy for me.  It’s out of an essential oils tray and  came from Amazon – here  

They seem to have changed the size since I purchased mine, so now you need two to get the same spacing.  I painted mine white before adding it to my drawer, because I’m all about matchy matchy haha, and a little OCD too.

The drawer in the picture is part of a 3 drawer storage system I purchased at Michael’s, it’s 13.5 x 14 inches.  Those dividers also work in the Ikea “Alex” drawers.

This enables you to swatch all your colors, and let’s you know which colors you have and which colors you need.  My Husband gifted me my “needed” colors for Christmas so happily, after today’s video, I now have the set and they are all tagged and put away.  YEAH….more OCD, haha.
