HI stamping friends, today on my paper crafting blog, I’m sharing Mediterranean Moments, a nice thought as e got 15Cm of snow yesterday, haha.
Truthfully, I have had this Mediterranean Moments stamp set for over 2 months, I don’t know what took so long to play with it – but if you enjoy colouring – it’s spot on!
I was daydreaming of walking down a lovely village street in Italy, you know the ones with the brightly coloured doors and all the lovely plants cascading out of their terracotta pots. I thought it would be nice to sit on that little bench and read a book in the sun!….with a glass of wine of course, tee hee.
Sandi’s Tips & Tricks for the Mediterranean Moments Card
- Stamp the image in StazOn Black onto a piece of watercolor paper
- Give the whole thing a light wash of Crumb Cake. the darker brown highlights are a second and third layer of crumb cake.
- I used my black watercolor pencil for the highlights near the top of the picture
- The greenery is done in Old Olive and Wild Wasabi, basically I blotched on old olive and then filled in the white spots with Wild Wasabi – how’s that for technical, haha…
- Bermuda Bay was used for the door, the bench, and the sky at the end of the alley.
- I used Cajun Craze for all the terracotta coloured pieces, and I am loving the warmth of that colour combined with the Bermuda Bay – very Mediterranean!
The stamp set comes in Wood or Clear mount and has 4 lovely images to colour so I know I’ll be coming back to this, maybe tonight as the next storm blows in, ha-ha.
I decided to keep the rest of the card real simple so it didn’t compete with the art piece.
- Card Base: Thick Whisper White 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2
- Mat: Basic Black 3-3/4 x 5
- Art Piece: Watercolor Paper 3-1/2 x 4-3/4
Thanks so much for visiting me today.
Sandie, I love Mediterranean Moments stamp set you used here. It is simple but very elegant.
I love the card, the nicest one I have seen using the Mediterranean Moments set. I have never travelled to Europe, but my sister has, and this set would be perfect for her. My favourite set to colour is Birthday Blooms, I love the large flower, easily coloured with markers or watercolour pencils and the aquabrush, and easy to fussy cut as well.
My favourite SU set to colour with is a retired hostess set called Best Thoughts.
Your card is beautiful. Honestly, I don’t ‘color’ much at all with any of my sets. Maybe I need to rethink that………….
birthday blooms is a favorite to colour! Although the more I see of this Mediterranean Moments, the more I am thinking that one would be funtoo! Love this balloon class!
Hi Sandi, I think if I had the Mediterranean Moments set, it would be very nice to color. So far, I like the Vintage Leaves set to colour. You can blend the leaves very nicely.
Happy Birthday Week!!! I hope you are having BIG fun every day and night this week to celebrate!
My FAVE Stamp Set to color is Hey Chick. I LOVE that chicken with the goofy head of feathers! He just cracks me up!
Thanks for sharing with us!
Hey Sandi. like us here in Ottawa old man Winter is hanging on.
Great colouring job on this stamp.
My favourite is the Corner Garden stamp. It is easy to colour and can use the stamp for so many occasions. I love stamps that you can use over and over again.
I think my favorite Stampin Up stamp to color is the You’ve Got This stamp set. It is challenging to perfect the flower to make it look realistic and you can use several different medias like water colors, alcohol markers , and pencils crayons to color it.
My favourite stamp set to colour with, mmm??? I really like Perfect Peacock, you can do so much with depth of colour. I l-o-v-e Tuscan Vineyard, you can almost make those grapes look real!
This is so beautiful! I really love all the possibilities that you have with this stamp
I enjoy colouring the Mediterranean Moments. It just begs you to play with it. It can really reflect actual pictures or photos. So lovely to drift away with!
Remarkable You is my favorite stamp set to color.
Your coloring is gorgeous as always Sandi! Looks like spring is happening in your studio even if the weather outside isn’t cooperating so much 🙂
Love your card Sandi, great job on the colouring. Must admit I try and avoid colouring, not so good at it, but I do like to see what others do. Maybe one day!!
I love the idea of using the Crumb Cake wash for the card…never thought of that! It looks great. I don’t really have a favorite set to color because I love them all!
Wow. I am just realizing that I don’t color much either. It’s very relaxing so I really must start doing it more often.
Happy Birthday! This week is going too fast. You Mediterranean piece is amazing. It made me feel so relaxed. I had my eye on this set and now you made me want to get it.
Thanks for the chance to win BC
Not being good at coloring I realized I never bought many sets that need such attention but I am working at developing some techniques helped by your great tutorials and lately I have been having fun with Awesomely Artistic combined with An Open Heart. Your tips sure encourage new experiments. Hope your birthday week has been full of fun because you are sure making it fun for all of us. Thanks.
My favorite set to color is Beautiful You. So many possibilities!
My favourite S.U. sets to colour are retired ones….the Seaside series as well as the older truck ones, the firetruck, the cars etc….I loved those styles
Sandi, you did a wonderful job on this fabulous card. My family and I lived in the Netherlands for 6 1/2 years (USAF) and this set so reminds me of the area where we lived and areas we visited. Memories………Absolutely love this set!!
I have always said “Birthdays are not so much fun if they only last one day” You are proof of that!
