So I dug out all my blingy Stuff and had a go. I ended up with a couple of cards, so I have a new one for you Tuesday.
I went a little masking crazy creating this one….the stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp “Look for the Rainbows” and I gold heat embossed the images onto black watercolor paper (I’ll talk about that in a minute). My Bling of choice for this one, Gansai Tambi Gem Colors and pearl White. They are STUNNING on this black watercolor paper. (and crazy stupid to try and take a photo of).
The Paint:
Both sets are watercolor paints. the Gem Colors are all pearlized and look FAB on black card. I used the Yellow Gold and Gem Green. The 36 color set on the right, has three pearlized colors at the bottom, and I used the white from there for the flowers.
This paint just takes a small amount of water to activate and its creamy and smooth to paint with. I laid the gold into the white while it was still went so it would blend a little and used a very fine brush so as to not cover my gold embossing
The Paper:
I ordered the middle pad. This Black watercolor paper is real black. suitable for watercolor, Gouache, metallics and acrylics. It weighs in at 140 lbs and there are 15 sheets per pad. It’s also 100% cotton, which I love in w/c paper
In real life, this card just sparkles. I used my Misti to stamp all the pieces whilst Masking, it took a few minutes but it was so worth it. Once I had all the painting done, I added a bit of gold splatter.
I matted the art piece to white card to help make the flowers pop and then to a Simon Says Stamp Leaf Green card base to set off the leaves.
The flower centers have little dobs of gold paint to add a bit of dimension, but I let a lot of black show for contrast.

Bonjour Sandi
I really love the way the degradation of the yellow color going to the withe. It is very smooth.
The photo reflex the shine on these watercolor paints.
The addition of gold powder for embossing, gives the petals a veil texture on the black background. The green color on the black brighten up these delicate flowers. It gives an impression it is floating in the dark night sky.
Merci
thank you Yolande, the paint does some pretty cool things on that black w/c paper
Oh wow, that’s stunning Sandi! Love the metallic touches on the black background! 😀
Thanks Amy, the metallic really pops
So beautiful Sandi!!!!!!!! I love how you watercolored in the black paper!!!!! So beautiful!!!!!! I love the sparkles!!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!!
thank you Natasha, the paint kind of sits up on top of the paper when it dries giving it almost a 3-d feel, it’s really cool
