Hello card making friends, I have a New Video – Sweet Friend Cupcake Valentine for you this morning. I’m up on the Scrap ‘N Stamp Blog today with this post so I thought I would share it here too.
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I think I’m still stuffed from the dinner we made, yikes it was good. During the down time I got a little coloring in with these fabulous HUGE stamps from Colorado Craft COMPANY. The cupcake one I’m using today is called “Sweet Friend Cupcake”, but check out my links below, there are a few others too.
Strawberry cream icing on Chocolate is my favorite cupcake so that’s what I decided to color today. I stenciled the Irregular Dots (from SSS) on the background, but you could also stamp the circle stamp that comes in the stamp set.
I decided on a dots background to mirror the dots I added to the cupcake paper.
The cupcake itself is colored on Neenah Solar White 80# card, cut out and glued to the pink card base.
These stamps are HUGE which makes them perfect for practicing your Copic coloring. I combined this one with the My Favorite Things Lots of Hearts Stencil in the background for a more “Valentine’s feel to it.
Here’s a list of the COPIC colors I used for today’s project and there is a PDF to download below along with the video showing how I colored this fabulous morsel of goodness, but hey, feel free to create your favorite flavor of cupcake too.
Strawberry: R20, R21, R35, R46, R59
Leaves: YG03, YG17
Icing: RV02, RV11, RV13, RV14, RV25
Cake: YR23, E25, E37, E59
Paper Cup E-41, E43, E44, Dots RV13
And a bonus project from the video. I started with a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 piece of white card, stamped the cupcake in the center. Colored it, and then cut it in half.
Viola – two card fronts….Simply add a couple more of the sentiments from the stamp set and some giant sequins from Simon Says Stamp Star Spangled mix, and you are golden.
I just love that design element peeking out from the side of the card don’t you? The background is colored with B000 Copic
There is also a great selection of sentiments with this set too, covering many different occasions or you could add your own of course.
