Hi stamping friends and welcome back. Today I’m sharing a technique I haven’t played with in ages called the Floating Ink Technique and I’m using some new products from Ellen Hutson.
If you are reading this by e-mail you may need to CLICK HERE to visit my blog to watch the video.
I’m so excited to share with you that Ellen Hutson has a NEW RELEASE today and I’m playing with this fabulous new Sentiment set called “That Thing You DID”. It’s a strip sentiment set and in the video, I show you a quick and easy way to stamp them without even taking them off the plastic backing.
For my FLOATING INK TECHNIQUE I used another beautiful stamp/die set from Ellen, the Mondo Chrysanthemum set. This flower set is absolutely PERFECT for this technique as you will see.
I started by white heat embossing the images and I show you how I masked them, so the leaves are tucked under the flower.
Then I used the Altenew Winter Wonderland Watercolor Brush Markers to do my technique. The pens have beautiful deep vivid colors.
Here is the video for today’s projects. I hope you enjoy it and will give it a try. I have listed all the products I used in the video below, simply click on the images for a larger view and to shop.
Don’t forget to hop on over to Ellen’s Site to Check out all the new products available starting today.

Oh my goodness, your cards are beautiful!! Love the colors and images, perfect! 🙂
thanks Amy, I’m sure you remember this technique, LOL
Over the top beautiful. I’m going to try it using a Stampin Up set and re inkers
Thank you Kristi, it works great with reinkers, but make sure you dilute them a bit first. That’s what I used when I first did this technique about 6 years ago.
