Happy weekend my card making friends. I have More Lemons for you today created with this beautiful Lemon Lush stamp from Pinkfresh Studio.
I hope your weekend is going well. Around here it has finally warmed up the snow has almost melted, and we are all doing the happy dance. Ian, the fur babies and I have even gotten out for a few much-needed walks. I think my cheery mood resulted in some bright and cheery colors for today’s card share too haha.
I’m watercolor again with my ZIG MARKERS. I first shared this stamp in a video I did here. While going through the steps of coloring that image, I kept thinking “hey I want to stop and not color in the entire image”.
That’s what I did this time, deciding instead to use the Turquoise pen and created a wash for the rest of the image, and I LOVE IT.
Background Wash for the “More Lemons” Card:
As in the video above, I started by Black Heat Embossing the image onto Strathmore Watercolor Paper.
Next, do basically the same thing as I share in the video with the large pink flowers. Just scribble a small amount of the turquoise onto the background and spread it out with a water brush. Working in small sections is best as you don’t want to let the watercolor dry on your paper, it’s difficult to move after that happens.
I also like to do my “scribble”, where there might be a shadow, that way if I don’t get it all blended, it looks natural.
The sentiment is Picket Fence Studios I Miss You word die. First create a two-tone wash on a scrap of watercolor paper and let it dry. Then cut out the sentiment. This die set has the shadow die too (which I Love), so I cut that out in black. I think it really makes a dramatic sentiment on my card.
Finally, as I often do, I diluted a bit of Dina Wakley White Acrylic Paint and added a splatter over the card, I don’ t know why, I just love that look, haha.
