Hi card making friends and welcome back. Today I’m sharing two cards using Positive and Negative Glimmer Foiling. The foiling set is this month’s Glimmer of the month kit from Spellbinders and it has a darling floral spray and a solid image rounded oval.
Because of the arch in the rounded oval glimmer plate, I decided to combine it all with the Essential Arches Die set also from Spellbinders. I just received this and I have been having a lot of fun die cutting arches for cards.
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure
I used the third from largest of the Essential Arches dies to create my card base. Fold a 4-1/4 x 11 white base, lay the die over it, with the top sticking up about a 1/4″ so that it doesn’t cut the top of the card. Run it through the die cutting machine and viola, you have a card base.
Next, use the same die and cut another whole arch. Place inside the NEW Origami Folds 3D embossing folder and run through the die cut machine to emboss
Trim the card base by 1/4″ and then attach the embossed front panel to the card.
Next, for both cards, I went down 3 sizes in the arches to create the panels for the art pieces. One in gold and the second smaller in white.
Positive and Negative Glimmer Foiling Card #1
First, use the floral spray plate and foil onto white cardstock. I use Polished Brass foil because it shows up better in my pictures than plain gold and I like the darker gold look.
Next, also glimmer foil the solid oval shape onto the background Essential Arches panel.
Then, foil the sentiments and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Finally, use foam tape to add dimension to the back of the two front arches, and the floral spray.
Embellish with Color Essentials Gems in Crystal mix.
Creating the Negative Glimmer Foil.
Take the piece of foil you used for the first card, and lay it over the solid oval plate to foil it onto the small white cut arch.
I love these new solid plates because I was hating to waste these pretty gold pieces!.
Next, layer as above and add the sentiment with foam squares.
Finally embellish with the same gems.

August 2022 Glimmer of the Month Club – Illustrated Floral & Solid was used for today’s cards.
If you are new to Glimmer Foiling, I have a short video showing how I like to foil. It’s boat loads of fun and once you invest in the Glimmer Foiling Machine, the foil itself is quite inexpensive, and a roll of foil lasts a very long time. It adds beautiful highlights to your cards and you can get foil in almost any color.
If you are considering a Glimmer Foil Machine Purchase, now is a great time to purchase with the *Take $20 OFF* your next $100 purchase Bonus deal the Spellbinders has on right now.
