Simon Says Stamp – Cheer and Joy Release

hello my fabulous stamping friends and are you ready to see some new products I’m sure you NEED haha?  Today is the Simon Says Stamp -Cheer and Joy Release – whoo hoo.  I had the opportunity to play with a few of the new items already so I have some cards to share with you along with a complete listing of the release.

Let’s start with my Favorite.  This New Clean Line Trees background stamp is da bomb!  (do we still say that?  haha)

This card was super easy.  Stamp the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (copic friendly), color with YG03 green and BG45 blue.  Add a white heat embossed sentiment on black, and done!…my kind of Christmas card….I like that the card has kind of a modern pop vibe to it too.

My next card is even more modern vibe.  I did two layers on this one.  First sponged Distress oxide ink in Evergreen Bough and Mowed Lawn onto a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of white cardstock.  Then I took the entire Inside Christmas Greetings stamp set and placed it face up in my Misti.  I covered it with VersaMark ink, and gently laid my cardstock on top, running my fingers over it to transfer the ink.

I covered it with White Embossing powder, shook off the excess and heat set it.

Next I laid the NEW Winter Floral stencil over the entire piece and again using the same Distress Oxide Inks, sponged more ink on so the stencil became another background.

Finally, I wiped down the entire piece with a dry paper towel to remove any ink sitting on top of the embossing before adding the sentiment piece.  Quick, easy and super fun to create.

Here’s another idea for the Clean Line Trees background stamp.  This time I went dumpster diving in my scrap bin, cut a bunch of strips 3/4″ and 1/4″ and attached them to a card base.

Next I white heat embossed the trees over the entire surface before cutting it down to 3-3/4 x 5 and mounting it to a white card.  The sentiment is also from the Inside Christmas Greetings Stamp set (part of last month’s release).

Little Ho Ho Deer makes me laugh.  He is part of last month’s release too, BUT, that reindeer background stamp is NEW and the perfect background for him don’t you think!.  Another 6 x 6 red rubber background stamp called Reindeer Background.

My last card for today combines the Winter Floral stencil again, the same distress oxides as above and a sentiment overlay embossed on vellum.  To the left of it, check out the die cut holly.  Produced by the die on the right called Christmas Foliage.  Awesome for added little bits for a card, and I’m working on a wreath card to share with you tomorrow.
