Hi card making friends and welcome back. I hope you had a fabulous Holiday and you are all rested up. Ian and I were both very tired after the craft room paintathon, so we shut down for 4 days. Ate too much, slept in, watched way to much T.V. and just recharged. It was blissful, LOL. During that time, lots of new products arrived from recent/upcoming releases. So I did pop into my studio and created a few cards. Today’s share is the Simon Says Stamp Crocus Floral Window. This is a sweet new die released on Dec 18 in the HUGS RELEASE from Simon. The crocus is my favorite spring flower so I had to dive in and play with it first.
Just a heads up, there are HUGE Paper Crafting Sales going on for year end right now – you can check them out on my PAPER CRAFTING SALES PAGE
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.
How to create the Simon Says Stamp Crocus Floral Window Card #1
Start by die cutting the image from a 4-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of hammermill white cardstock.
Next, color it with Prisma Color colored pencils and cut around the bottom section to release the flowers from the background piece.
Then, take a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of white cardstock and ink blend with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitivly Saturated Ink pads: Marine, Cadette and Royal to create the Ombre effect. Die cut with the Crocus Floral Window to create the circle, and cut out the crocus image.
Pro-TIP – Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Inks come in 3 colors per hue, making it foolproof to create an Ombre ink blend. They also sell individually or in the three color pack, see below.
Finally, place the card front inside the NEW Spun Glass Embossing Folder (Same new release), and emboss. PS. I’m OVER THE MOON for this new embossing folder, it’s so pretty.
Glue the pencil colored crocus image back into the circle from the back.
Then, ink blend a bit of “Sprout” ink on the center of the white A2 sized card base. Add foam squares to the back of the art piece and attach it to the card front.
Finally, add a sentiment and embellish with a few Pretty Pink Posh sugar plum mix gems.
How to create the Simon Says Stamp Crocus Floral Window Card #2
I was about to create a alcohol ink background for this card when I remembered I had the Consortium Ink Drops Vivid and Candy Patterned Paper. Looks exactly like alcohol paper, without the mess when you are in a hurry.
Start by creating a A2 white card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2
Next, cut piece of Craft Consortium Ink Drops Vivid or Candy patterned paper to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and attach to the card base.
Then, using a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece of Hammermill white card stock, add the Stitched Rectangles die and the Crocus Floral Window die and run through the die cutting machine.
Attach to the center of the card front.
Finally, add a preprinted sentiment, from Reverse Birthday
