Simon Says Stamp Home Sweet Home

Hey Crafty Friends welcome back. My handmade card share today is created with the Simon Says Stamp Home Sweet Home July card kit. This is a fabulous kit with lots of goodies, but I’m totally in love with the adorable Home Sweet Home stamp set.

To create this card:

I started with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Strathmore Bristol Card in my Misti Stamping Platform. The strip of houses is about 8 inches long, so i turned my Misti to the landscape view and moved the card stock back and forth to get a variety of different buildings into my image.

Next, I got out my Karin brushmarkers and added the color, blending it with my water brush. I stuck to mostly primary colors for this card.

Finally, I stamped the bi-plane and then the banner up in the sky, along with the little birds.

I have a difficult time making one layer cards, so this was a challenge for me haha. I had a second set stamped and had to deny the urge to cut them out and layer them – but I know I will in the future, that’s just how I roll haha.

Once I was done coloring, I mounted the art piece to a top folding A2 card base in Neenah Solar White 110# – my fav for card bases, as it’s nice and thick.

As you may know, I love to decorate coordinating envelopes (time permitting), and I’m days behind in my card making, but I decided to squeeze this one in because it’s just too cute.

Check out the banner: When I stamped it, I used my black Tombow Marker to ink just the outline. That allowed me to change the words inside the banner to “please deliver to!….cute or what!
