Today’s card started out like Yesterday’s Card but I changed it up a bit.

Simon Says Stamp Tender Leaves Die

First, I changed the color to Fog, tone on tone stamping with the New Damask Background stamp for the background (isn’t it beautiful – it’s a stash must have for sure).

Second, I grabbed the Leafy Branch die  from last month’s release to add a little background noise behind the New Tender Leaves Die cut pieces.

As I said yesterday, there are two die cuts in the Tender Leaves, and I have laid them on the card so they look like one long piece and I like how the solid image contrasts with the outline leaves behind.

How to create the Simon Says Stamp Tender Leaves Die card:

For the background:  Stamp the Damask stamp in the same color ink as the card stock.  In this case, that is one of my favorites, Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink.

Next, use the A2 Thin Frames dies to cut out the frame and inlay a white one to add some “background noise”.

Die cut the Tender Leaves die and the Leafy Branch die.  Attach the Leafy Branch die down the left side of the card using  white glue.

Next, add the smaller Tender Leaves die pieces with foam squares for a bit of a 3-d effect.

Cut the Celebrate sentiment twice out of Fog card and once from Mirror Gold.  Glue them together and attach near the bottom of the card.

Add a sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips – Birthday.

Embellish with Simon’s Smooch Sequins

  1. I think my favorite product would be the stencils – especially the large ones for doing slimline designs.

    beautiful card!

  2. Hi, Sandi – exquisite! You layered all these elements, inc the stamped background, and it does not have a cluttered look at all. I pinned it. Mine get all fussy if I try to do that. I love that background and the leafy dies. The Celebrate is perfect!

    1. aw, thank you Rosy, yes, I know that happens to me sometimes too, I always lay it all on the card first before I glue it down so I can change my mind 10 times, lol

  3. Oh my goodness, I just love how delicate and soft the layering of these die cuts looks! Absolutely beautiful. 😍

  4. Beautiful card Sandi, love the soft colors of this card. So very elegant.

You asked for our favorite item, had to be the Thanks A Latte gift card holder!

  5. Such a beautiful and elegant card! Love the muted grays used to create the background. It allows the pattern to shine without overpowering the rest of the card with those delicate die cuts. Well done. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Love your beautiful card with that gorgeous Damask background stamp!!! That is one of my favorites but am really love that Reserve Happy die!
