Spellbinders Friendship Garden Card

Hi card making friends and welcome back.  New Month, all new clubs from Spellbinders.  Today’s card is created with a couple of those.  The Spellbinders Friendship Garden  Clear Stamp and Die set of the month and the Seamless Floral Embossing Folder of the Month.  Next, I have a fun new color combo for you.  Look at me all venturing away from blue and green, haha.  I even have a set of Copic Colors to match the new color scheme.

What caused the new color scheme?  These 5 new cardstock colors being released this month from Spellbinders.  I LOVE Spellbinders cardstock.  The colors are amazing, it’s super smooth and it’s nice and sturdy weighing in at 100 lbs.  New colors are from left to right:  Fog, Sunkissed, Peach Sorbet, Tuscan and Velvet Rose.

I know, not my normal bright and happy color scheme.  However, I love the soft muted tones of this one.  Then, it was also fun to change it up and come up with a Copic Color combo for it too. (see second image below).

How to create the Spellbinders Friendship Garden Card:

Start by stamping the image in copic friendly ink onto a piece of Hammermill white cardstock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2

Next, color with Copic Markers and then die cut out with the coordinating die.  TIP – stamp, color and cut out a second of the flowers in the top right corner (there is a coordinating die for it in the die set).

COPIC COLORS USED:

Golds:  YR31, YR21, YR24   Pinks:  R81, R83, R85, R39  Greens:  G21, G24, G28, Blues:  B91, B93, B97

Then, cut a piece of the Velvet Rose cardstock 3-3/4 x 4-1/4.  Place it inside the Seamless Floral Background Embossing Folder.

Next, mat it to a piece of white 3-7/8 x 4-3/8.  Also cut a piece of Tuscan 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and attach it to the top folding A2 white card base.

Finally, attach the art piece with foam squares to add some depth.

TIP – also new this month – the 4″ detailed Scissors shown in the above photo, and the new 9″ Pro Shears both with  nonstick finish.  I have been using these in my studio for a week now and man, are they nice.

Adding the sentiment:

Start by stamping your choice of sentiments onto a scrap of white cardstock.

Next, die cut it with the coordinating die.

Finally, attach it to the bottom center of the card with foam squares.  Attach the single flower cut out over this using glue dots to secure.

Then, embellish with Spellbinders Color Essentials Gems in Gold Mix on either end of the sentiment panel to make them look like brads.

Sandi, this card is lovely. The colors of cardstock, the Spellbinder’s club embossing folder and the Spellbinder’s club stamp are so pretty. I’m really looking forward to getting my club order soon. Thank you for the inspiration.

  2. Love the colors in your card. The color of the embossed background is gorgeous. You have gotten a perfect color match with the larger flowers. Such a pretty card. I am a fan of the softer color palette.

  3. I do like these new shades of cardstock!! Hope you can work with them sometimes!!!
The card is gorgeous with the embossing and the pretty coloured flowers!
