Hey card making friends, welcome back.  Today I have two Spellbinders Hot Air Balloon Cards to share with you created with the 3D Vignette Hot Air Balloon Dies new this month from Becca Feeken.

These dies are amazing and so easy to work with.  Using all of them, you can create a 3D Vignette of this beautiful vintage hot air balloon.  As I have very little display space in my studio, I opted to create cards with the air balloon images instead.

I love the versatility of being able to create cards as well as the 3/D image with this die set.  They would also be great bag decorations for gifts, name tags at a table, hanging ornaments, etc.  It’s also a great time to deep dive into your scrap bin and come up with different color combos for your balloons as I did today.

 

I of course went for my favorite colors blue and green for my first card, and then, in my endless pursuit of trying new color combos, I combined Lilac Blossom and Cosmic Sky for the second.

How to create the Spellbinders Hot Air Balloon Cards

Start with two pieces of cardstock 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 and cut out the air balloon image, gluing the one color over the second solid image background.

Next, use a piece of Gold Mirror cardstock and die cut all the embellish elements for the balloon.  The fine tip on the Bearly Art Glue is perfect for gluing these pieces down.

Then, craft colored cardstock for the basket.

Finally, cut a card base 7 x 10″ score and fold at 5.  Add a coordinating colored card front 5 x 7″.

Emboss a piece of white card stock 4-1/2 x 6-1/2 with the Faux Stitch Embossing Folder and attach to the card front.

Then, use foam squares to attach the balloons.

Adding the Sentiment:

Die cut the sentiment from a scrap of coordinating card stock and trim before attaching to the card.

Next, use the two cloud dies to create some background clouds

These are super fun and the pieces are quite large making them very easy to work with.
