Hey card making friends, welcome back. Today is the Spellbinders March Blog Hop and Give Away with awesome makes and great give aways. We are celebrating the March Clubs today with our makes and have some fabulous inspiration for you from the design team.
I really enjoyed all the clubs this month so it was hard to pick just one favorite. Therefore, I have combined my two favorites for today’s card. The Small Die of the Month Club, and the Glimmer of the Month Club.
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.
See below for today’s Giveaways:
I adore ink blending (as you may know, haha). When I started this card it was St. Patrick’s Day, so it’s a New Ink Blend, all in Greens. I know, you’re shocked there is no blue, haha.
Distress Oxide Inks: Rustic Wilderness, Pine Needles and Evergreen Bough. Hope you like it because I sure do.
Spellbinders March Blog Hop Card #1
Start with a piece of Hammermill White cardstock 4 x 5-1/4″ and ink blend the entire surface.
Next, create a second piece the mirrors the middle section of the card.
Then do a third piece, with smaller blends for the butterfly. P.S. Smaller means, trying to get all three colors into a smaller piece so the butterfly is tri colored.
Finally, use Polished Brass Glimmer Hot foil to foil the top and bottom of the card front, and the center piece.
Spellbinders Reverse Foiling – Butterfly
Start by laying the Essential Glimmer Solid Rectangle onto the glimmer hot foil machine, next, add the two foil pieces you already used on the card front.
Next, Lay the butterfly ink blended paper ink side down over this.
Then, foil as you do normally.
PRO-TIP – this creates “reverse foiling” and uses up the rest of the foil stuck on the piece you used the first time. ( I hate wasting these pieces so I always look for creative ways to use them).
Finally, cut out the butterfly with the dies from the March 2023 Small Die of the Month Club Kit. Cut out the center piece with the coordinating die.
Then, attach the card front to a top folding A2 sized white card base. Next, use foam squares to attach the center foiled piece. Finally, attach the butterfly to the center of the center piece and then add the foiled sentiment above it.
Final step, embellish with a few Color Essential Sequins – Gold Smooth Disks.
