Swoopy Flowers Shaker Card and Give Away

Hi card making friends, I have a couple of cards to share with you today using the SWOOPY FLOWERS stamp/stencil/die set from Simon Says Stamp.  Today’s post is part of the INSTAGRAM HOP for the KISSES Release.

You will want to hop over to my INSTAGRAM PAGE for the hop and don’t forget to leave a comment at each stop as Simon is generously giving away a $25.00 gift card at each stop along the hop.  Winners will be announced Tuesday Jan 31th on the Simon Says Stamp Instagram Page.

Plus you will see fabulous inspiration from the design team using the fun new products from this release and last month’s Hugs Release.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.

The Swoopy Flowers stamp set also has a coordinating stencil and die set to make your crafting so easy.  You can simply ink blend through the layered stencils to achieve beautiful results.  I didn’t get the stencil in my kit, so I used small ink blending brushes to add Pawsitively Saturated Inks to my cards.

The main reason I love these ink pads so much is each color comes in light, medium and dark which makes layering blending colors for depth and interest so easy.

PRODUCTS USED for the SWOOPY FLOWERS Cards:

Handmade Birthday card using the swoopy flowers stamp set to create yellow flowers surrounding the Happy Birthday die cut sentiment, created with new card making supplies from Simon Says Stamp
How to create the SWOOPY FLOWERS Birthday Card:

Start by placing a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Hammermill white cardstock inside the Spun Glass Embossing Folder and running it through a die cutting machine.  Use tear-iffic tape to attach to the front of a top folding white A2 sized card base.

Next, place a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ piece of Hammermill white cardstock into a Misti and stamp the floral images twice in VersaMark Ink.  Cover with white embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.

Then, use small blending brushes to add Pawsitively Saturated inks in Sunbeam and Grapefruit on the flowers and Sprout green on the leaves.  Cut them out and set aside

Finally, using the NEW Champagne Matte Cardstock, die cut the Birthday Wishes sentiment twice, stack together.  Use the fine tip on the Bearly Art glue to attach the sentiment to the center of the card.

Then, use small foam squares to attach the flowers and leaves around the sentiment.

I’ve created a downloadable PDF file for you with all the instructions, photo and supply list.  You can save it in your computer or print it off to help you recreate the card.

handmade Swoopy FLowers valentine's shaker card created with new card making supplies from Simon Says Stamp

How to create the Swoopy Flowers Shaker Card:

Start by using the Nested Hearts dies to cut a heart from the 4 x 5-1/2″ Hammermill white card front.

Next, place the card front into the Spun Glass embossing folder and run it through a die cutting machine.

Then, place a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ piece of Hammermill white cardstock into a Misti and stamp the floral images twice in VersaMark Ink.  Cover with white embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.  Cut them out and set them aside.

To create the Shaker:

Start by turning the card front over so the back side is facing up.  Glue a piece of clear acetate over the heart cut out, then attach foam strips around the heart to create the barricade for the Disco Hearts Sequins.

Next, sprinkle in the sequins, making sure the bigger hearts are facing the right direction.  Add more foam squares to the back of the card front, to support the edges.

Then, lay a top folding white A2 sized card base over this, to create the back of the shaker.

Finally, cut the sentiment from the Champagne Matte Cardstock with a a white shadow and glue across the center of the heart.  Embellish the edge of the heart with the florals.

I’ve created a downloadable PDF file for you with all the instructions, photo and supply list.  You can save it in your computer or print it off to help you recreate the card.

  1. Oh heavens. It’s just as well it’s too expensive for me to get SSS stuff sent over here or I’d be in trouble. I love that floral set! Your two cards are stunning Sandi, not sure which one I love the most. But I’m a sucker for a shaker 🙂
