Coffee Understands

Hi stamping friends and welcome back. When I received my Picket Fence Studios parcel the other day it also included a fun stamp set called Coffee Understands.

Love this stamp set….great little images to color and the sentiments have just the right amount of snark haha….

So, as I was up at 4:00 on Sunday morning because Oscar (the corgi), doesn’t understand daylight savings time (along with everyone else haha), I decided to stay up and color. I brewed myself a big pot and turned up the tunes in my studio and just had some fun. (and Oscar the corgi went back to bed after his trip outside – haha, go figure).

For the first card I thought it would be fun to color the cups a few different fall colors and create a cheery border for my card. I used my copics in:

Reds: R35, R46, R59
Yellows: Y23, Y17, Y38
Greens: YG03, YG17, YG67
the lids are done with Wo, W1 and W3

I used Distress Oxide Gathering Twigs stamped off to add the coffee rings.

For the band of stripes down the side, I cut a piece of white card 1″ x 5-1/2″ and used my black copic to draw lines. I like the uneven look of doing it that way.

Card #2 is similar, I used the same colors on the gal, for her skin I used E50, E51 and Y23 and I used a tiny bit of B000 on her glasses. I mixed a bit of black paint and water to add some splatter to the background.
For her sweater, I colored it in with the two lighter yellows and then used the darker one to create polka dots, just adds an additional bit of interest, and coordinates with the coffee rings in the background.

Now to send these off to a couple of coffee loving friends LOL. I bet you have a few of those in your tribe too right?
