Hi card making friends, here you go, my video share for this week is the Northern Lights Technique Video.
I was sharing pictures through Instagram earlier in the week (don’t you love Instagram) onto Facebook of cards I was creating for Ian’s work. I was having a ton of fun with them so it was awesome to see comments and likes from so many of you, thank you so much, and many e-mail requests for a video. Which is funny because I never showed the completed card, haha….here you go!
As I say in the video, we were trying to make the scene look like around here, with both soft and hardwood trees, and as we live north, we see the Northern Lights all the time, hmmm, and we see snow a lot too, haha……
While searching through stamps I realized that Stampin Up has a lot of tree stamps, but we settled on the Woodland ones and the White Christmas ones.
The foreground is also cut out with the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and the snow is another stamp in the Woodland Stamp Set.
A little heads up here…the Woodland Stamp Set and the Sleigh Ride Edgelits are both on the Holiday Catalog retired list, so you only have a couple of weeks to purchase them.
Woodland comes in Wood #139752 and Clear Mount #140365
and White Christmas is a Photopolymer set #135767
I also created a One Sheet Wonder for the Northern Lights Technique (click on the words to download) so you would have the supply list, cutting measurements and the bullet points.
Thanks so much for visiting me today, I hope you enjoyed the Northern Lights Technique Video and project.

Thank you Sandi—-Wonderful technique! BEAUTIFUL Card
Hi Priss, you are so very welcome and thank you…
I absolutely love your card. I just tried to make it myself. Had to use a different set for the trees but it turned out so pretty. I also embossed the whole card with iridescent ice, so now it really looks like snow is falling. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial and idea.
you are so very welcome Carol, so glad you enjoyed making it.
