Hi card making friends, today I have two cards to share with you created with Pinkfresh Just Because with Karin Markers. If you follow me on facebook, you may know that I recently treated myself to a set of Karin Markers. I used them for the first time on this project and they are lovely.
Before we get going on the cards, I just got a notification that Simon Says Stamp is having 25% OFF all Copic Brand Products
Use code: MARKER – good through July 3, but order early for best selection
I have been really enjoying coloring this “Just Because” Stamp set from Pinkfresh and there is a New Misti Monday Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge is “make a pink card”, any kind of card for any occasion, just make it pink!….so why not a pink card, do I get bonus points for using a”Pink”fresh stamp, haha?
Both cards also qualify for the Simon Says Challenge over on Instagram, for June it’s “Ink Blending”

For both of the cards I used my Misti stamping platform to stamp the image in VersaMark Ink and black heat embossed the image onto Canson watercolor paper, colored them and then die cut them out with the coordinating die.
Pinkfresh Just Because with Karin Markers Card #1:
I used Karin Markers: 654 ,210, 375, 170, 197, 357. When coloring, you add just a touch of the Karin marker to the inner part of the petal and pull the paint out with a water brush.
These pens are super intense, so a little bit of paint goes a long ways. For the leaves, I combined the green and blue. I put a dab of blue in first, and pulled it around the entire leaf, then added a touch of green while it was still wet so it blended.
Before attaching the art piece to the card base, I stamped the image twice in Gina K Amalgam Black ink, just to add some background noise behind my main image.
Next I attached the art piece with Foam Square to add a little dimension to the card.
The sentiment is gold embossed on black and attached with foam squares.
Finally, I added some bling with the Pretty Pink Posh Party Mix Jewels in pink and purple.
Pinkfresh Just Because with Karin Markers #2
Instructions are pretty much the same as #1, eliminating the blue and purple pens.
Before attaching the art piece, I popped the black card front into my Misti and Black heat embossed the image in the bottom right corner of the card.
Again, a little subtle background noise, just to add interest to the card, with no bulk.
The sentiments are gold heat embossed onto black, cut out and attached with foam squares as is the art piece.
Finally, for my bling on this one: it’s Pretty Pink Posh – Friendship Confetti Mix.
Info on the Karin Markers:
These are beautiful watercolor pens/Markers, similar to Zigs and the Arteza Real Brush Pens. The colors are super bright and super intense so you use very little to color an image so I’m sure they will last a long time.
I chose this set for the variety of colors, however they do come in several different sizes ( see below).
Marker Universe is a new affiliate for me and their service is first class. They notified me when shipped, and shipping was quick. I would highly recommend them….and while you are in their site, check out the markers, they have everything, Tombow (individually and in packs), paint markers, deco brush metallics, and many many more.
I’m working on a video with these markers to share with you, hopefully by the end of next week..
