Spellbinders Fall Gnomes

Hi cardmaking friends and welcome back.  Today I have Spellbinders Fall Gnomes to share with you.  This is the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month kit for September and it’s absolutely adorable.  The set includes two little gnomes, a selection of fall foliage, some great sentiments and a full set of dies to cut them out.  You can really get your coloring skills on with this set.

To create my scene backdrop I first cut  an arch using the Essential Arches from a white 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card front.  Behind that I added a second white piece the same size.  I ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks in Mowed Lawn and Broken China and then I cut the Color Block Cloudscape to give me a stencil to create the clouds.  This not only provides a sweet background for my little gnome, but it frames out my art piece at the same time, adding depth and interest to the card.

I used copic markers to color my images but you could use your favorite medium such as pencil crayons, or you could water color the images too.

COPIC MARKERS USED:

Yellow:  Y11, Y15, Y19, Green:  YG03, YG17, YG67, Red:  R24, R46, R59, Pumpkins:  Y17, YR04, YR18, E07, Brown:  E21, E23, E25, Skin:  E51, E13, R11, R21

How to create the Spellbinders Fall Gnome Card:

Use the Misti to stamp the images into Hammermill white card stock in Copic friendly ink.

Then, color with copic markers before cutting them out with the coordinating dies.

Finally, create the background as described above and attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Putting it all together:

Do a dry fit of all your pieces, then add foam squares behind and attach the main elements.

TIP  I started with the gnome, the wheel barrel and one pumpkin on the left.

Next, overlay and/or tuck in the remaining elements.  Let some spill out over the frame.

Finally, place the card back into the Misti and stamp the sentiment.
