Spellbinders Flowering Tree Card

Hi  paper crafting friends and welcome back.  Today I’m sharing Spellbinders Flowering Tree Card.  This card is created with the New March Large Die of the Month and the background is March’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Tiled Motif both of which you can order today through March 27th.  This beautiful set of dies also creates a 3D card, but I am need of a pile of birthday cards, so I went flat (love sending cards, hate additional postage, LOL).  And, with all the lovely flowers, it’s a great way to celebrate the 2nd day of spring don’t you think?

I’m also trying out a new “Cool Color Combo” on you.  This is Spellbinders Cosmic Sky (dk blue), the tree is Simon Says Stamp Fog and the Purply pink flowers are a pink from Bazzill, sorry there is no number on it but I think it’s Cerise Pink (linked at the end of this post).  I decided with these strong colors I wanted lots of white, so the leaves and other flowers are all done in white along with the background.  I really like this combo, especially all the white.  What do you think?

If I was going to change anything on this card, I think I would have slid another piece of the FOG cardstock behind the embossed card front, to frame it and add a tiny bit of color in the background, but I didn’t hate it enough to take it apart, haha.

How to create the Spellbinders Flowering Tree Card

Start embossing the 4 x 5-1/4″ white card front with the Tiled Motif 3D Embossing Folder before attaching it to a A2 sized white card base (4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2).

Next, cut the tree from a piece of Fog cardstock and then cut the flowers and leaves from the colored and white cardstock.

Then use the fine tip on the Bearly Art Glue to attach all the flowers and leaves to the tree.

Finally, use foam square pieces to attach it to the top portion of the card.

Spellbinders Flowering Tree Card – adding the sentiment

Start with the two sentiments in the set, die cut the happy in the dark blue and the birthday in the pink.  Make sure to have lots of left over flowers from the tree too.

Next, glue the two sentiments to the card, the happy on the outside, the birthday on the inside

Then, embellish with some of the flowers and leaves.

Finally, here’s the inside of the card where I added the die cuts.  There is still ton’s of room for writing too.
