Spellbinders April Embossing Folders

Hi card making friends.  Hope you had a great Easter.  We had beautiful weather so it was nice to be outside again.  Today I’m sharing two cards created with the Spellbinders April Embossing Folders.  I love these folders each month they are always so creative and new and this month did not disappoint.  The regular monthly Embossing Folder Club is Seamless Floral Background and the 3D Embossing Folder Club is Patchwork.  They are both unique and beautiful.

Today’s cards are similar but very different too.  Both bases were embossed and then I ran a white pigment ink pad across them to highlight the embossing.  One is very quiet and lace like, the other is very bold with big beautiful flowers and a patchwork trim.  So let’s jump into how to make them shall we.

Additionally, both cards have a floral overlay, for added interest  Card #2 even has another new color combo for you today.

Spellbinders April Embossing Folders Card #1

Start by placing a 4 x 5-1/4″ piece of Teal Topaz cardstock inside the Patchwork 3D Embossing Folder and running it through the Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine

Next, use a White Pigment Ink ink pad and gently run it over the surface to highlight the embossing.

PRO-TIP – Pigment ink takes a long time to dry.  I dry it with my heat tool so as to not transfer the ink with my fingers while I work on completing the card.

Then, attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Next, die cut the larger flowers from from the Four Petal Thank You Florals Die set in white, glue them together and attach them to the bottom left side of the card.

Finally, Pick a sentiment from the Punch and Pierce Frame and Sentiment Large Die of the Month kit, cut it in gold and attach it near the center of the card.

Spellbinders April Embossing Folders Card #2

The first few steps are the same for card #2 to create the background using Waterfall cardstock and the Seamless Floral Background Embossing Folder.

Next, die cut the Sealed Flowers stem in Cosmic Sky and flowers in Pink Sand.  The flower centers for both cards are Chamomile.

Then, gold emboss one of the sentiments from the April Clear Stamp and Die Set Friendship Garden and attach all of this to the left side of the card
