Hi card making friends and welcome back. Boy it’s been busy around here with all the Spellbinders NEW RELEASES yesterday, and STAMPtember with Simon Says Stamp. It’s keeping me on my toes, LOL. Today I’m sharing the New Small Die of the Month Kit from Spellbinders, and I created the Spellbinders Hiking Boots Die Cut Card with it. The kit is called “Hiking through the Meadows and it’s very cool.

There is a boatload of dies in the set. Dies to create the boots and then all the foliage I have in the background, as well as a few I didn’t use. My hiking boots are teal (there’s a surprise, right? haha), so I cased them. I really enjoyed creating all the fall foliage for this one with the fun new dies which I’m sure I will be using again this month as I work through more of the kits.
How to create the Spellbinders Hiking Boots Die Cut Card:
Cardstock used:
White, Blue Spruce, Black, Teal Topaz, Rainforest and S.U. Mint Macaron.
Distress Oxide Inks Used:
Gathered Twigs, Ground Espresso, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, and White Pigment Ink:
Start by die cutting all the pieces from the colored cardstock. Glue the boots together and scuff up the toes using the white pigment ink and a tiny blending brush.
Next, add highlight colors with ink:
Poppy pods: Cut from Portobello card stock and highlighted with Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso inks.
Green leaves: Cut from Rainforest card stock and highlighted with Pine Needles Ink
Light colored leaves: Cut from Mint Macaron card stock and highlighted with Evergreen Bough Ink.
Berry Branches: Cut from Mint Macaron, with white berries – no highlighting.
Spellbinders Hiking Boots Die Cut Card – Putting it all together.
Start with a white A2 sized, top folding card base: 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″
Next, cut a piece of Teal Topaz and run it through the September Embossing Folder of the month: Cascading Leaves and Stripes. Attach it to the card base with tear tape.
Then, add the boots and foliage using white liquid glue and foam squares to add dimension.
Finally, white heat emboss the sentiment on a scrap of black cardstock. The sentiment is from the September Clear Stamp and Die Set of the Month “Fall Thoughtfulness”. Add some white highlights with a #10 white gel pen.
