How to Make a Penguin Christmas Card

The Festive Penguins Clear Stamp and Die set are absolutely adorable.  For today’s card, I stamped them in a Copic Friendly Black Ink, and then colored with my copic markers.  You could also use colored pencils, watercolor, Karin Markers etc.  Pick your favorite and give them a go.  This card would also be fun to make with your children or grandchildren.

Copic Markers Used:  Shadows:  E000, E00, E50, Feet:  Y15, Y38, Pinks:  R2, R21, Greens YG03, YG17, Purples:  V12, V15, Teal:  BG11, Bg13, Blue:  B12, B24.

How to Make a Penguin Christmas Card:

Start by stamping the penguins in black into onto a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of hammermill white cardstock.

Next, color the images with your favorite medium and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Then, create a card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2.  Next, cut a card front from Waterfall cardstock 4 x 5-1/4.  Cutting this 1/4″ smaller than the card base makes a pretty white frame around your card when it’s all put together.  Use the Essential Arches die set to cut out an arch in the center.

Finally, cut another piece of Hammermill white, 3-3/4″ x 5″.  Place it inside the Flowering Christmas Tree Burst Embossing Folder, which is the 3D Embossing Folder Club for this month.  Run it through the die cutting machine and then attach it to the back of the arch card front.  Pro-Tip – this gives added interest to the background behind the penguins, and if you look closely, I centered a tree just to the left of them.

Attach this unit to the card front.

Putting the card together:

Start by adding small pieces of foam tape to the back of the art piece and attaching it down the right side of the arch.

Next, stamp a sentiment and cut it out.  Attach it to the left side.  Then attach a parcel under it.

Then, add Teal Color Essentials Gems around the sentiment to highlight it.

Finally, use Crystal Stickles on the pompom of each of the hats for some added bling
