Hey crafty friends, happy weekend. In today’s New Card Making Video – Mixed Media Watercolor Flowers, I mess around with some Karin Markers to create some super easy and fun watercolor flowers. Then, I go all mixed media on some backgrounds for them. It’s great inky fun, I promise, LOL
PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure
Karin Markers used: Magenta Red #170, Gold #283, Turquoise #654, Grass #253. If you don’t have Karin watercolor markers, you could use watercolor paints in similar colors.
All products used today are linked at the end of this post.
All of the cards are the same size and have white A2 sized card bases, two portrait and one landscape.
Mixed Media Watercolor Flowers Card #1
Cut a piece of watercolor paper 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ inches and spray with Distress Oxide Inks in Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed.
Next, using the Shiny Diamonds Stencil and white Embossing Paste, add embossing paste randomly over the card front.
Then, using Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Citrine, stamp a small and medium flower image wherever there is no embossing paste.
Once the card front is dry, place inside a splat box, and splatter with gold and white paint.
Finally, attach to a top folding A2 Sized card base, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ score and fold at 4-1/4″.
Decorate with the flowers and leaves and then cut the sentiment with the Large Smile Die. One in gold glimmer and two in pale yellow, stack and glue to card. Embellish with some gold gems.
Mixed Media Watercolor Flowers Card #2
Start with the same 4 steps as above. The exception is the A2 Sized card base – 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.
Next, add a single large flower and leaves in the bottom left of the card.
Then, Die cut the You Are Loved sentiment once in glimmer gold and twice in pale yellow. Stack and attach to the top right of the card.
Finally, embellish with gold gems.
Mixed Media Watercolor Flowers Card #3
Again, the steps for the card base are similar. This time the card front is colored with Lindy’s Magicals Hydrangea Blue.
Next, use the Shiny Diamonds Stencil, and Gina K Designs Glitz Glitter Gel Iridescent to add some diamonds randomly over the piece.
Then, cover the card front with flowers and leaves, attaching them with foam squares.
Finally, die cut the hello 3 times in white and the shadow die from vellum. Stack and add to the bottom right of the card.
Embellish with gold gems.
