Hey card making friends.  Today I’m sharing Simon Says Stamp Foil Transfer Cards.  The last two releases there have been foil transfer acrylics in my box from Simon, and up until recently, I only had a very old laminator, so I didn’t use them.  Well, I managed to score the Gina K Designs Fuse a few months back and I finally dug it out to play with….It’s so fun, and a completely different way of foiling compared to the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine.  It even uses different foils.  I ‘m sharing a few details below, and I just ordered a few more supplies, so when they get here, I’ll do a couple of videos to share this fun tool and the great results you get.

I used the Summer Rainbow Deco Foil on both of my cards today, and both of the transfer sheets are created on clear Acetate.  Just a heads up, you add the foil to the dull side of the acetate, otherwise you will transfer the design to your carrier sheets.  Ok, I had a 50/50 chance of being right on that one, haha, but alas, it’s a good thing I ordered extra carrier sheets, LOL.  One of the many reasons I’m going to do a couple of videos for you, haha.

As I said above, this system uses a different type of foil.  Deco Foil, Gina K Designs Fancy Foils made by Therm-o-Web (they have an amazing selection of foils), and Simon has Foil Transfer Sheets as well.  DO NOT USE Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil, it will not work in this system.

How to create the Simon Says Stamp Foil Transfer Cards

Start by cutting a piece of Deco Foil that covers the entire design on the Acetate.

PRO-TIP – If you have any of the transfer design showing, it will transfer to your Carrier Sheet.

Next, using a Swiffer sheet, clean the carrier sheet, the foil and the acetate, dust is not your friend in this process.

Place the foil pretty side up, over the acetate on the DULL SIDE of the design, place both into the Carrier Sheet.  Warm up the Fuse, on setting 3 and when the light turns green, run it through – fold side first.

Then, let it cool for a few minutes before opening, gently peal back the foil, to reveal your beautiful foiled image.

PRO-TIP – Save the used piece of foil for some reverse foiling down the road.

Hide the adhesive behind the foiling and attach to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Die cut the Sunrise Stem flower in white and add down the right side, then die cut the “grateful” sentiment from  Fancy Giving Thanks dies in gold and white and attach to the bottom center of the card.

Simon Says Stamp Foil Transfer Cards, Card #2

The basic steps are the same as in card #1.  This time the Acetate Retro Arcs set was used.  There are 4 transfer sheets in each set, to make 4 different cards, and again, you can use the cast off foil and reverse foil to make 4 more cards.

I die cut the “thankful” sentiment in mirror gold and white using the Fancy Giving Thanks Die Set.

It’s also VERY HARD to take a good picture of something foiled, because you get the glare, I’m going to try and do a reel to load over on my Instagram account so you can see the cards over there.
