Aloha Paradise | Tropical Cardmaking with the Spellbinders June Clubs

Welcome back, card-making friends!
Today I’m sharing two tropical-inspired cards featuring products from the Spellbinders June Clubs.  First up is a beautiful Aloha card created with the Large Die of the Month Tropical Blooms, paired with a stunning embossed background using the Pineapple Pop 3D Embossing Folder.

Next, we head to the beach with an adorable hula penguin dancing at sunset!  This fun card combines the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month with the All-Club Crate bonus items, while the background texture comes from the Island Style Embossing Folder.

Both cards capture the relaxed island vibes of this month’s paradise-themed release and are packed with colorful die-cut details and tropical charm.

How to create Aloha Paradise Tropical Cardmaking – Card #1

Create the Card Base:

Trim a panel of Waterfall cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and emboss it with the Pineapple Pop embossing folder.   Attach the embossed panel to the front of a white, top-folding A2-sized card base.

Die cut the Floral Elements:

Die-cut the Hibiscus flowers from Tutu cardstock and ink blend the center and outside edges with Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink for added depth and dimension.

Next, die cut the foliage from Peridot and Rainforest cardstock and lightly ink blend the pieces with with Rustic Wilderness to enhance the details.

Die cut the Plumeria flowers from white cardstock and ink blend them with Worn Lipstick and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide inks.

Assemble the Card:

Arrange the flowers and foliage across the center of the card front, adhering the pieces with a combination of liquid glue and foam squares for dimension.

Finally, die cut the Aloha sentiment three times from white cardstock.  Stack and adhere the layers together, then attach the sentiment over the floral arrangement to complete the card.

The scene includes a tropical sunset, sandy beach, and an aqua embossed background, styled with seashells, starfish, greenery, and glass gems on a bright turquoise backdrop.

How to Create Card #2:

Create the Card Base:

Trim a panel of Waterfall cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and emboss it with the Island Style embossing folder.   Attach the embossed panel to the front of a white, top-folding A2-sized card base.

Die Cut the Elements:

Die cut all the penguin pieces and assemble the adorable hula penguin.

Next, stamp and die cut the beach sign using the Clear Stamp and Die set.    To add extra dimension, die cut a second set of sign pieces from darker cardstock and layer them behind the stamped signs.

Cut the setting sun by die cutting circles from Beeswax and Saffron cardstock, and then trimming them off.

Cut the ground, mound and sign post from fawn cardstock and ink blend with Vintage Photo for some shadow

Assemble the Card:

Adhere the sun behind the ground and attach the completed beach scene along the bottom of the card front.

Add the hula penguin on the right side of the scene and the beach sign to the left.  Use foam squares to create dimension and bring the tropical sunset scene to life.
