If you love beautifully colored images but don’t enjoy spending hours with alcohol markers, this project is for you.  It’s incredibly easy to create beautiful lemon cards without coloring when you have a coordinating stencil set like the new Squeeze You Stamp, Die and Stencil Bundle.  To me, it’s the perfect combination.

The layering stencils make coloring quick and effortless, while still giving you the flexibility to ink blend multiple shades for added depth and dimension — without a lot of work.  Then, the coordinating die cuts out your finished image perfectly, making it easy to pop it onto any background you choose.

Speaking of backgrounds… today’s card features the new BeDazzled Embossing Folder.  After embossing the panel, I lightly rolled white pigment ink over the raised design with a brayer to create the look of classic Spanish Tiles.  I paired it with the gorgeous Cosmic Sky Cardstock – I just can’t get enough of that rich, deep blue!

It’s also another great example of how to get more ideas and more value from the embossing folders you already own, by using them in creative ways beyond simple dry embossing.

The card features bright yellow lemons, green leaves, and white blossoms on a deep navy embossed background highlighted with white pigment ink to resemble Spanish ceramic tiles. The sentiment, "can't wait to squeeze you!", is placed across the top lemon. Decorative greenery frames the upper left corner against a clean white background.

The sentiment, "can't wait to squeeze you!", is nestled across the top lemon. The card is displayed on layered yellow and light blue cardstock and surrounded by coordinating Simon Says Stamp ink pads, a dish of clear gems, and greenery on a white work surface.

How to create the Beautiful Lemon Card without Coloring:

Create the Card Base:

Trim a panel of Cosmic Sky cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and embossing it with the Bedazzled embossing Folder.

Using a brayer, lightly roll white pigment ink over the raised portions of the embossed panel.  Once dry, attach it to a top-folding, white A2-sized card base.

Create the Focal Image:

Position the Squeeze You stamp in your Misti and stamp it onto white cardstock using a light gray ink, just dark enough to see the image while stenciling.

Place the panel onto a sticky mat and use the coordinating Squeeze You stencils to ink blend the image.

Inks Used:  Sprout, Fairway, Field, Lemonade, Zest and Honey.

When you’re finished ink blending, place the panel back into your MISTI and stamp the image again with a crisp black ink to bring out all the beautiful details.  Die cut the image using the coordiantiang die.

Use a #10 Sakura white gel pen to add the dimples in the lemons, and a few highlights in the leaves.

Stamp the three flowers in black ink, die cut them and color the centers with a yellow marker.

Assemble the card:

Using foam squares, attach the lemon image to the center of the card front. Adhere the flowers around the image, then add teh sentiment.

Finish the card with a sprinkle of Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.

Voila!  In less than 15 minutes, you’ll have a bright, cheerful lemon card featuring bold colors, beautiful layered stenciling, and a striking two-tone embossed background – without any traditional coloring.
