Hi card making friends and welcome back. Today I’m sharing Alex Syberia Designs Joyful Poinsettia Cards as part of the NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP. Yes, we are playing with brand new products from Alex and they are stunning. There is amazing inspiration in the blog hop using these new products so I hope you will join in.
This BEAUTIFUL Joyful Poinsettia die set has the most amazing detail etched into it so all you have to do is cut it out and layer it to create the flower. Of course you can ink blend on them too. PLUS, there is a lovely selection of greenery dies and my second card is made from those.
You can view the entire NEW RELEASE HERE

Alex Syberia Designs Joyful Poinsettia Cards – Card 1
Start by creating the card front using Teal Topaz card stock from Spellbinders. Cut the base at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, cut a second base and die cut it with the Snowflake Petals Cover Die before attaching it to the base and then to a white A2 sized card base.
Next, cut the poinsettia pieces from white cardstock and layer them. Cut the centers from gold glitter paper. For more depth, use foam squares to layer them.
Then, die cut the leaves from Mint, Rainforest and gold glitter cardstock. Ink the green ones with Distress Oxide Ink in Evergreen and Pine Needles before attaching them under the poinsettia.
Alex Syberia Designs Joyful Poinsettia Cards – Embellishing.
Start by hot foiling the Joy sentiment with Polished Brass Foil, cut it out with the coordinating die and attach it to the bottom left of the card.
Next, lightly spray the card front with Pixie Spray and then sprinkle Simon Says Stamp Unicorn Confetti Chunky Glitter over the card. Shake it really well to remove an excess.
PRO – TIP – you want to let this sit for a couple of days for the Pixie Spray to dry before putting it inside an envelope, or add a piece of wax paper to the front that the recipient can peal off.
This is a very messy step, and I’m not a huge fan of glitter, but it looks amazing on these cards.
Alex Syberia Designs Joyful Poinsettia Cards – Card #2
Start with a Blue Spruce card front cut 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and attach to a top folding White A2 sized card base.
Next, add a second card front cut from White Glimmer paper 4″ x 5-1/4″.
Then, die cut the foliage from Mint cardstock. Ink blend with Distress Oxide Ink – Evergreen Bough to darken the center part of the leaves and then attach in a circle on the card front.
Finally, Die cut the berries in Matte gold cardstock and Foil the NOEL sentiment with Polished Brass Foil and cut it out with the coordinating die. Attach them all to the card, and repeat the step with the Pixie Spray and the Unicorn Confetti.
