Alex Syberia Designs Mysterious Petals Die Cut Card

Hey card making friends, welcome back.  Today I’m sharing Alex Syberia Designs Mysterious Petals Die Cut Card.  This is a beautiful Mysterious Petals die cut set that has 3-4 layers to each flower.  It’s easy to cut out and it fits beautifully on an A2 sized card.  The biggest problem you will have with this die, is picking colors and trying to only make one, haha…

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.

For today’s card I grabbed a couple of pieces of watercolor paper that I had colored with Lindy’s Magicals in teals and dark blues (powders listed below).  I used those to cut out the stem in teal, and the flowers in the darker blue.  I love the marbled effect and shading using these.  THEN, I decided I needed some bling, so I cut parts of the flowers from Gold Glimmer cardstock – WOWZA.

Finally, the background is embossed using the Meadow Magic Cover Die released last year from Alex Syberia Designs.  There is a new cover plate in this release called Charming Floral Cover Die which is similar and I’m really kicking myself for not including it in my kit as it’s lovely. (you need it, because I know I do, haha).

How to create the Mysterious Petals Die Cut Card

Start by coloring two sheets of watercolor paper with Lindy’s Magicals in Shabby Turbine Teal, Looney Tooney Teal and Banff Blue.

Next, cut the stem and leaves out of the teal and the large pieces of the flowers from the dark blue using the Mysterious Petals Die Set.

Then, cut the middle layers of the flowers from Gold Glimmer cardstock, and the outside smaller pieces from the Teal before gluing them all together.

PRO-TIP – use lots of glue when gluing to the gold glitter paper and place a heavy acrylic block on top until it dries flat.

Creating the Background

Start with the Meadow Magic Cover Die Plate and add a piece of Pool Party cardstock cut 4 x 5-1/4″.  Tape together and run through the die cutting machine to create the embossed pin needle image.

Next, attach to a top folding A2 sized white card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″.

Then, glue the floral stem onto the card front.

Finally, place in your splat box, and splatter with gold and white paint.

Then, using the Beautiful Day Stamp and Die set, gold emboss a sentiment onto white cardstock and cut out with the coordinating die.  Attach to the top left of the card with skinny pieces of foam tape.
