On to my card shares for today, the Alex Syberia Winter Foliage Holiday Cards. Obviously created with the lovely Winter Foliage Die Set. Don’t let this tiny die set fool you, it’s got a BIG PUNCH and it’s a must have in your stash. (not just for holiday cards, these berries and branches work for cards all year long). I think I have used it in almost every single card I have created for this release as you will see.
I had a blast making these cards so let’s jump in and I’ll give you a quick rundown.
Both cards are created with many of the same materials. Cardstock is Hero Arts Hero Hues Mist, Hammermill White and Spellbinders Phone Booth Red (apparently retired, sorry about that) and Rainforest.
Both backgrounds were created using the new Falling Snow Stencil and White Paper Glaze Paste.
Alex Syberia Designs Winter Foliage Holiday cards Card #1
Start by creating the background by placing the stencil over a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card front in Mist. Use a palette knife to add the white paper glaze. Set aside to try
Next, die cut the two larger leaf dies, 8 times each in white, Rainforest green and Mist. Also die cut the berry branch in green and the round overlays in red. Once they are glued together, use a white gel pen to add highlights.
Die cut the Falala sentiment 3 times and stack. Also cut the large Pretty Bows die 3 times layering, but offsetting to create a loopy bow.
Then, use a circle die and a pencil to draw a light circle on the card front and glue down all the pieces.
TIP – gluing just the ends allows you lots of room to tuck other pieces under.
Alex Syberia Designs Winter Foliage Holiday Cards #2
Start by creating the same background as above.
Next, use the Elegant Stripes Hot Foil Plate and Silver Glimmer Foil and foil a piece of white cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Use the Signature Tags Die Set to cut out a large tag.
Then, die cut the Large Merry Christmas Die twice and glue them together before attaching them to the center of the tag. Run some red and white twine through the tag hole and then mount this to the card front with foam squares.
Finally, die cut a selection of the large leaf foliage and the berry stem. Layer then and then attach to the top right and bottom left on the tag.
