These images are so fun to color and they don’t take a lot of time as they are small and so adorable. I colored with my copic markers (color numbers shared below), but you could use any markers you like, or even colored pencils.
Copic Markers Used: SNOW: BG0000, B000, B00, RED: R20, R35, R46 – BLUE: BG11, BG13, BG49 – BUNNY & MICE: W1, W3, W5 – SLED RAIL: N1, N3, N5 – SLED: E21, E23, E25 – ORANGE: Y38, YR04, YR07 GREEN: G21, G24, G28.
Anita Jeram Christmas Take 2 Card #1
First off, I couldn’t decide if that little mouse was holding a persimmon or an orange. As a child, Santa always put a nice juicy mandarin orange in the toe of my sock, so I decided it was an orange, LOL. PS, and my sock was red with a felt Snoopy on the front, I still use it to this day.
Start by using a Misti to stamp the image in copic friendly black ink (I use Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink), on a 4 x 5-1/4″ piece of Hammermill cardstock.
Stamp the Image again onto masking paper. Cut the top of the image out, making sure you cut off most of the black lines
Pro-Tip – Hammermill cardstock is not only inexpensive, it’s awesome for copic coloring. It’s also very white, so I use it for my card bases too.
Next, color the image with the copic markers. Once done, cover the top of the image with the masking paper image to protect it.
Then, tear a piece of copy paper to create a snowbank mask. Use a blending brush to add Distress Oxide Ink in Broken China and Tumbled Glass to create the sky
FInally, use the blue copic markers to add shadows in the snow and then a white Posca paint pen to add the snow.
Place the image back into the Misti and stamp the sentiment. Stamp a couple of candy canes, color and cut out to add to either side of the sentiment.
Anita Jeram Christmas Take 2 – Card #2
Start with a piece of white hammermill 3-3/4 x 5, and then follow the same steps as above.
Pro-Tip – The snowflake stamp in the sky is from the But First Presents stamp set also from this release and I’ll have a card made with that one tomorrow.
Next, attach it to a white mat cut at 4 x 5-1/4″.
Then, use foam tape to attach it to the top folding A2 White card base.

Oh good, I got the idea across, haha. It was snowing the day I colored it, so I was using the view from my window to make the cards

I think that is what makes Ms Anita’s illustrations so precious as they bring forward so many of our memories. I too wondered and thought tomatoe? (Don’t think I have ever seen a persimmon) But having a huge navel orange on the toe of my childhood stocking with nuts in the shell and a wrapped keepsake hidden within suprise I knew it had to be an orange. I was suprised how many artists created it as an orange. Darling cards! Wonderful coloring.
Thankyou Carol. Persimmons are a bit more orange than a tomato, and don’t taste near as nice (In my humble opinion), LOL. I remember the hazelnuts too, and we always got one of the lifesaver candy books too.
Sandi, both cards are so adorable! I love what you’ve done with this release. Thank you for all of your inspiration.
aw thank you Bonnie, I have enjoyed creating with these images
