Hey card making friends and welcome back. Today I have 3 cards to share with you created with the Brushed Flowers, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for May 2022. The Brushed Flowers 6 x 8 stamp set that comes in the kit is a solid image stamp set, with a water color brush stroke appearance. I noticed that most of the design team went with real funky bright cards for this release, I decided to go very soft and subtle with light airy cards and lots of white space.

I used the new Pawsitively Saturated Ink Cubes from the kit in Lucky, Ocean and Citrine (I’ll save the rose for another day). The amazing Simon Says Stamp Flannel Ink Cube Strip is perfect for holding these little cubes in place while you are working too. I used the stamping off technique (what we called it way back when), now it’s called the first generation and second generation stamping. What does that mean? Ink the stamp, stamp it off onto a scrap piece of card stock and then stamp it onto your card front without reinking. It gives a lighter stamped image rather than going full bore with the ink pad, and with this stamp set, it makes it look like it was painted with a water brush – so beautiful.
How to create the Brushed Flowers Cards:
Start by using Hammermill White card stock and cut each of the card fronts 4 x 5-1/4.
Next, place the card front into the Misti onto the sticky mat. Line the stamp up and ink it. Place a scrap piece of card over the stamped image and rub lightly to remove some of the ink, and then stamp.
Thirdly, clean the stamp and replace it with the second stamp and repeat with the second color. Use the green and blue ink squares for this card.
Finally, stamp the sentiment in black ink, adding the heart if you wish. Add a few green/blue sequins.
Card #2
Use the same steps as card #1 with the blue and green leaf images. Try different stamps from the set for a different look.
Next, use the second smallest of the floral images and the Citrine Ink, again with the stamped off technique (second generation stamping).
Finally, again, add the sentiment stamped in black.
Brushed flowers Card #3
Stamp the palm stamp with the green and second generation stamping in a circle to create the wreath.
Next, stamp the flowers, also second generation stamping in the yellow ink.
Finally, add the blue dots second generation stamping as well.
To complete the wreath, add small yellow sequins from the End of the Rainbow Sequins (not included in the kit, but I use them ALL THE TIME.).
