Celebrate New Years Card

Hi card-making friends,  I have a Celebrate New Years card to share with you, made from three die sets:  Nested Stars Dies, Stitched Border dies, and a sentiment die. I hit my scrap bin from some pretty pieces of gold and white glimmer paper scraps and matte gold and cut them out of the three smallest-sized dies to create my constellation up the right side of the card.

This is a great way to use little pieces of card stock and a super quick and easy card.  I added some interest with ink splatter and coiled gold thread.  Let’s jump into the details.

How to create the Celebrate New Years Card

Start with a white A2 sized top folding card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2.

Next, cut a card front from the same white cardstock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and die cut the stitched edge around it.

Then, place the card front into a splat box, and splatter it with gold paint.  Let it dry before attaching it to the card base.

Celebrate New Years Card – Adding the embellishments.

Starting with the Celebrate word die.  Cut it twice from white cardstock and once from matte gold.  layer and attach to the card front.  This gives it strength and height on the card.

Next, using the 3 smallest star dies, cut a selection of stars from glimmer gold and white cardstock, and some plain white.  Cut twice as many of the smallest star to use as filler.  I used the Hero Arts 5 Point Stars Infinity Dies today, but as they are out of stock, I have linked a couple of other sets below for you.

Then, before gluing down the stars, snip a long piece of gold thread and lay it down the right side of the card, allowing it to curl up.

Finally, place foam squares on the back of the stars and attach them down the side of the card.  They will hold the thread in place.

I have a pretty gold envelope to house this card.  I’m using it for New Years but it would also work for a birthday card, graduation, or special occasions.  Change the starts to hearts and you have  a valentine’s card.

I wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year.  I hope the coming year brings you health and happiness.  Thank you so much for your support this past year, it means a great deal to me and I’m looking forward to bringing you lots of new content in 2025.  CHEERS.
