Hi stamping friends and welcome back. Today I have Cosmos Bloom Pearlescent for you.
I recently received an order from Simon Says Stamps with a few new goodies in it. Namely this awesome Cosmos Bloom background stamp – 6 x 6 inches in red rubber, LOVE IT.
Also some new watercolor paints, FineTec Pearlescent. I thought these watercolors would be absolutely Fabulous on Black as the pigment is pearlized so it would sit up on top of the paper. Wow, I was right.
One thing I was not counting on was how hard it was going to be to take a picture if it. haha…with all that bling going on, plus the lights. Yowza, this is about the best I could do. But let me tell you this card is just FAB in real life.
How to create the Cosmos Bloom Pearlescent Card
Gold emboss that lovely stamp onto Black Black SSS cardstock, then used a #4 waterbrush to add the pigment.
Next, paint the image with the FineTec Pearlescent Colours.
Colours are: Copper, Bronze, Olympic Gold, Arabic Gold, Champagne Silver and Silver.
I swatched them first and I was getting so excited to play because they are just FABULOUS on dark card stock. They also have LOTS of pigment so they were great to work with, I would highly recommend them.
Make the art piece the full 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 (A2 card size), and mount it on a black card base.
The picture shows a black envelope behind it as well.
Adding the Sentiment:
I wanted a real simple sentiment for this one, so I used another new stamp set, SSS Greeting Mix 1.
Black emboss the “thank you” onto a piece of Tonic Polished Gold Mirror card stock for some added bling.
Finally, attach the sentiment with foam tape for a bit of depth.
Artist Tip: Use a super Fine Gold Embossing powder to emboss with. There are lots of details in that background stamp and you want them to shine!
I really enjoyed painting this card front and I think I’ll try the flowers from the “Look for the Rainbows set next.
Until next time, all these goodies are listed below for you so you can treat yourself to some new paint and stamps.
