Hello cardmaking friends, hope you are enjoying a nice long weekend. Today it’s Distress Oxides Color Combos and Cards 4 up on the blog.
This time I’m blending 4 colors for the project. On an A2 card 5 – 6 colors would be the max before it would start to get muddy and you will see in the video I sneak in #5 at the end haha.
Distress Oxides Color Combos & Cards 4: The colors this week are Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and at the last moment I added in a little Black Soot at the very bottom just to anchor the design.
Once I was done the blending I splattered it with water for the distressed look.
This set is from The Stamp Market – Botanicals with beautiful matching silhouette and outline images and coordinating dies.
I need to use this set more as I really love it. For today’s card, I do like the left card more as the silhouette is more dramatic and really accentuates the colors in the background. I may have to color in the other one haha.

Lovely card, simple but effective. I have just recently found you and enjoy your videos and PDFs immensely. Thank you.
Hi Cathy, thank you so much for finding me and taking the time to leave a comment, I’m so glad you are enjoying the projects
What a gorgeous and bold ink blend combo! A perfect backdrop for your leafy silhouettes!
Thanks so much Bonnie, a quick and easy one
Oh wow, that background is stunning Sandi! Love those colors and the botanical images are perfect with it! 🙂
thanks Amy, I like how dramatic it is with those colors
Hi Sandy,
So will this work with my regular destress inks??? I love these cards I want to drive out your way and just stamp with you. Trying to get motivated to do some stamping today but Youtube keeps me from starting!
haha, thanks Stephanie. The regular distress inks don’t have the same opacity, so you get a different blended finish, but you could certainly give it a try. I get stuck watching videos too, so I get it, haha
I love, love, love your videos. You are organized, get right to the point. Your cards are beautiful. Thank you for sharing them.
aw, thank you JoAnn. I hate watching videos where people go on and on while they look for their supplies, so you won’t get those from me, LOL
Enjoyed the video Sandy. Thanks for doing it.
thanks Gail, it was fun, I like those dark vibrant colors
